Honeymoon

We were going to do our honeymoon in vegas to keep it cheap but i want to go to Jamaica to an all inclusive resort.... Any suggestions for a place that is reasonable but not gross??? I like ocho rios near the water fall climb!

Re: Honeymoon

  • The only resort I've been to in Jamaica was Sandals Negril.  It was okay, but nothing spectacular.  It's also an hour and a half from the airport.
  • "cheap" means a lot of things to different people. What is your budget? I recommend checking out Tripadvisor.com, reading some reviews for the resorts in the area, and seeing if those resorts fit into budget.

  • The Hilton Rosehall Resort & Spa is really nice, it's located in Montego Bay. I am not sure what your budget is but it's beautiful and it is worth the cost.
  • I'm trying to stay under 3000 but willing to budge if really needed.... Is it better to go thru the resort?
  • $3K is doable for a nice resort in Jamaica, but the airfare will probably cut down your options. Going to someplace like Cabo from the OC is much more budget friendly. However, check out Couples Sans Souci or couples tower Isle, both in the Ocho Rios area, and both adults only and very highly rated. You can book Couples through an online agency, like Travelocity or Expedia, through the hotel direct, or through an agent listed on the Couples website (they list Couples specialists). Since you'll need airfare, you might make out better with something like Expedia or a specialist.

  • Thank u!!! I was thinking about buying the, resort first and just keep my eye out for a good flight deal....
  • I would not wait to book the air separate from the resort because airfare is very volatile and from what I've seen, running very high, so you run the risk (a high risk) of never finding the air price you want and then it will be too late and you'll blow your budget. So, if you find a package right now that you are comfortable with price-wise, just go ahead and book it. FWIW, though, air is usually at it's best pricing 3-6 months out.
