HURRICANE Season

Honeymoon in early August....during hurricane season (no Caribbean)

Want to stay low in Budget (under $2000), but still have wonderful scenery.

Really want to go out of the country, but I know there are still a lot of nice places in the US I've never been. Also, cruises are really cheap right now.

I love the beach, but I live 30 min from a beach, but tropical beaches are so much better!

I love traveling and what better way than with the one you love.

Any ideas of places, all inclusive deals, good websites to use?
I've been keeping an eye on groupon.com. Has anyone ever used jetsetter.com?

Re: HURRICANE Season

  • Thanks,

I know airfare is really expensive that's why I've been keeping an eye out for all inclusive trips. Definitely want to go somewhere warm where we can relax, layout and sightsee.

Groupon usually does not include airfare, so I probably would not opt for that. Checkout cheapcaribbean.com or start playing around with some ideas on Expedia or Travelocity. I think Jamaica, the Dominican, or the Cancun/Riviera Maya area will be your best bets for price. So, if you go to Expedia, plug in your dates, and do a search, you'll see all of the available resorts pop up and their starting price.

  • watch Snique away, bookit.....also maybe some VRBO could cut your cost....thinking a cruise could fit for you....there are lots of great cruises and good price points.and you can drive to some ports....don;t be afraid to use websites for better prices......pick one that has options for beach days or use of company private island. or stops where you can "beach it or snorkle or sail(St. Thomas,St Martin, Jmaica, Cozemel all have fun options)...also go out of a port with a fun city like New Orleans...also sign up for member of airlines, they will alert you to their sales...Southwest, Airtran and Delta have all had great sales lately out of Atlanta
  • If you want to stay in the Caribbean but avoid the possibility of a hurricane, check out one of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao). They are located outside of the hurricane belt.
  • price it out. airfare is down this year compared to last so far (for the trips i've priced anyway). you might be able to pull off a few nights somewher with 2k.
