Reasonable Videographer

I would really like a Videographer for my wedding but looking at the prices they are ridiculous!  Anyone have someone they used that had quality work?  I don't need it to be anything over the top!  Thanks!

We found ours on Craigslist.  She filmed documentaries and wanted to get into weddings.  She has since moved to California (so I can't pass her info on to you), but definitely check Craigslist for deals!
  • What price are you looking for? A friend of mine from work, does this as a side job and we looked at using him. Ended up deciding not to have a videographer.
  • I'm not sure what you think is a ricdiculous price, but I highly reccomend Prodigy Cinema. I actually work in film/video and have always admired their work. We are using them. They have a number of different packages. It takes a lot of time and special skills to edit video - and you get what you pay for...
Prodigy uses multiple cameras and has packages that include a music video/ short...you know, the thing people will want to see, bc only you and your parents are going to sitting through the whole video ;-p

  • I'm interested in understanding the prices as well, I agree they seem 'ridiculous' where I have looked. What does Prodigy Cinema charge?
  • Prodigy starts at $1500. My package is $2700 and include full day coverage and music video/short film. I believe they offer discount pricing for weekdays and Dec - Feb. I think it is def worth the money bc there is so much they you don't remember especially from the ceremony. The day goes by so quickly, this is a visual and audio reminder. You can't hear your vows in a photo :-)

  • At the recommendation of one of my bridesmaids (whose friend used him for her wedding), we are using Jonah Epps Videography for our August wedding. I met with a few videographers and we thought his work was well done and his prices were more than reasonable. His packages start at $675. I believe we're paying just under $1500 for everything we selected. Here's a link to his website if you're interested: http://www.jonahepps.com/

That is very reasonable - actually I'm shocked, I can't imagine how he is making money with those prices, very nice! His music videos are nicely done too. :-)
Either way, if you can afford it, regardless of who you end up picking I think it's worth the money.
