Venue search close to Staten Island

I am a newly engaged bride to be looking for venue ideas. I am from Staten Island and looking for venues in or around the island, preferably within a half hour from Staten Island. I would like something affordable with nice scenery for photo opportunities. I have been currently searching for more of a rustic/country scene but also within a decent price- things are so expensive. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Venue search close to Staten Island

  • The Old Bermuda Inn is nice and reasonably priced. I'm booked at Nicotra's ballroom located in the Hilton on South Ave. Also Nanina's in the Park and the Palace in New Jersey are nice. They are both within 30 mins of the island. Hope this helps.Smile
  • What are you looking to spend per person?

I had my wedding at the Hilton but visited a bunch of venues on the island. The Hilton is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend it. I would need to know your budget though before giving additional suggestions.

  • Snug Harbor- if you're doing a Friday and/or the off season. Lots of different space options. Don't be afraid to negotiate.

If you don't have more than 80 ppl, Greenbelt Nature Center has a lot of potential with the right decor. Might not blow you away when you visit, but keep an open mind- they have a great outdoor space, the people there are really easy and cool to work with. Cute little bridge in the forest for photos. Very secluded. Not expensive (their vendors that they work with to gussy it up are reasonable too- not that you can't bring your own in). Potentially gorgeous setups for the ceremony.

I am having mine at the Old Bermuda Inn in December - great price there. Also, Excelsior Grand really is lovely too and they're having a 20th anniversary sale this year. Usually it's a lot more expensive there but for this year only it's greatly reduced (around the same price as OBI).
  • Above at the Hilton is amazing and beautiful.  I don't know when you're planning on getting married, but if you're interested I unfortunately have to postpone my wedding.  We're booked there for this June 15th and are looking for someone to take over our contract.  It's very different for SI and is a new venue with a rooftop bar for a cocktail hour and a 2 story ballroom for reception.  The food is crazy good.  The place is expensive but we were lucky to secure preconstruction pricing last year.  Let me know if you want more details, I would love to answer any questions with no pressure.
  • Hey there. I booked my wedding at the Excelsior Grand in Staten Island.  The inside is absolutely beautiful, they are reasonably priced compared to other venues, and Kim will work with you from beginning to end on every detail.  Remember, you can also travel to another location for outside pictures!
  • Hello All, I know I haven't been on in a while, I took a break from the wedding craze. I'm still on the lookout though. All great recommendations. Honeyflr, Above looks stunning!!! I've been there before but not for a wedding, I think they are out of my price range. Did you end up getting married there? My budget is around 150-160 per person.
  • I am booked at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge NJ. Its 20 mins from the island, great food and great prices. I would check it out.

  • I got a great offer from the Grand Oaks, but ended up staying closer to my church in Brooklyn. The Vanderbilt too.
