I want to do a September wedding but really want to use purple/silver as my colors.  Do you think it will work or do I need to do fall colors instead?

You can use whatever colors you like and will make you happy!  Although some might be inclined to stick to typical colors of the season, this is not a rule.  I'm having a September wedding and our colors are pewter, light peach, and ivory.  I don't think these would be considered a fall palette, but to me it's a beautiful combination and I wouldn't have it any other way:)  Go for it!

I agree!  It's your wedding and you should have whatever colors you want when you want them.

Some leaves turn purple in the fall.

I had a lilac and silver wedding. :-) We got married in May, but had thought of September at first too. If we had done September, I would have used a darker purple. I think your colors are fine for September!
