April Fool's Day pranks?

Hey guys, hope you had a good Easter!

So I'm curious, do y'all ever do any pranks on April 1st? If so, what are you planning?

As for me, I'm trying to think of pranks to pull on my BF and on my roommate...but I probably won't succeed because I am terrible at keeping a straight face :p.

Re: April Fool's Day pranks?

  • Eh, I don't do April Fools. Never have, never will.

  • It's not nice to pull pranks on people. Frown

  • I've never pulled pranks on people for April Fool's Day. The whole concept is something I really don't enjoy.

  • I don't really participate in April Fools either. I don't like to be pranked all that much. I see all my facebook friends posting they are pregnant and I get really excited for them and then I realize it's April Fools.

I think if you're going to prank your BF, I would do something silly and fun. I'm not good at playing pranks but maybe you could tell him you're cooking dinner tonight and that it's a very fancy meal and that you want to make it very romantic and then whip out kraft mac and cheese from the microwave when you're sitting down for dinner haha idk. That's stupid but it's something my FI would think is funny.

  • i got my freind who is preggo to give me one of her odl pregnantcy tests and im gonna give it to my bf and be like "congradulations!!"

    it's gonna be hilarious.

  • Lol well I'm not a fan of elaborate pranks that damage something like cars, hair, etc. Just pranks that tend to be small and harmless. My family would pull pranks on me every now and then, mainly because I tend to be a little gullible and trusting. Which is why I like to try to pull a prank on April 1st, see if I can surprise them for once :p.

For BF, I was considering going on his laptop and taking a screenshot of the desktop then leaving the image open. Then sit back and watch him try to figure out why his computer seems to be frozen. The tricky part will be getting onto his laptop when he's out of the room.

I'm actually planning something similar.  I'm going to change all of H's desktop icons to icons for other programs, and then rearrange them so that everything LOOKS like it's in the same place, but when he clicks on, say, Chrome, it'll open Photoshop.  And when he clicks Outlook, the internet will open, and so on.  I can't wait.

<div>He doesn't know yet.  He srsly has no idea all of this is happening.  I'm so excited to surprise him tonight.  Invites went out already, like 6 months ago, so it's been REALLY hard to keep him from all of the chitter chatter.  Thankfully my mother in law knows it's a surprise, so she's been helping.</div>
  • I always get pranked on my birthday, never on April Fool's. Last year, my students covered my office in sticky notes. The year before, they literally filled my office with balloons. It was insane.

  • Omg, when I lived in the dorms, we totally pranked people! I hope my roomie doesn't try to prank me. I always fall for it. :( Wow, 500 people? No wonder you need a loan! It's so nice your mother in law is helping!

  • I've only ever played one successful April Fool's day prank. My senior year of college, on the morning of April 1st, I sent a text to both my mom and my sister saying something like "So..... apparantly some of my credits didn't actually transfer and I may not be able to graduate this May. I'm going to be able to take the 2 missing courses next semester though, so I can graduate by December at least I think :-( "

My little sister replied right away, saying "Nice try, April Fools", and so I promptly forgot about it.

A few hours later, while in class, I got missed call after missed call from my mother. Then she started texting me "CALL ME NOW!". I replied that I was in class but I would call her later and she said "NO - Call me NOW!!!" I - completely having forgot the prank - thought something was very wrong, and I excused myself from class to go call her.

She was furious "What do you MEAN you're not graduating now??? How could you let this happen?!" I asked her what day it was, she said "April 1st - WHY DOES THAT MATTER???" And finally, I just told her "Mom. It was an April Fool's Day prank. RELAX."

It was hilarious, and worth every second.

  • In junior year college we lived in an old mansion that was converted into dorms and my friend lived in a room that was down it's own hallway. We got up super early, raided condiment cups from the dining hall and waited until he left (around 7:30 am). We then filled up 2/3 of the hallway with cups filled with water so he couldn't get back. There was a little note on the door that said "April fools love Sydaries, her roommate and the other friend"

A bunch of freshman thought it was so funny and were following him all around and telling him they needed to have a private conversation with him, so he, being the sensitive soul he is, was concerened and was NOT in the right mindset to deal with it. He was mad. He said he wouldn't have been mad if he wasn't in such a serious mood.

It would have been good, but it wasn't :(

  • I wanna do SOMETHING but all the pranks on Pinterest seemed too mean, haha.  I might take a string and string it through FI's boxers though.  so that he'd grab all of them at once, haha.

Sounds simple enough and not really that mean :)  Plus he pulls out his clothes for tomorrow tonight, so he won't be all discombobulated in the morning (cause that's a bit mean right before work)
