In Response to Re: The weekend is near! : Whoops, sorry. Translation: my BF and I are going to hang out with a bunch of stereotypical nerds tonight for the sole purpose of tossing dice on a table to determine what their completely-imaginary-exists-only-on-paper "characters" will do in any given situation. Pathfinder is like Dungeons & Dragons, only somewhat better (in their views). I am going to heckle the ever-loving crap out of them because this is one of the weirdest things I have ever encountered in my life.Posted by KeptInStitches
Awww, I love it when Tyler has his nerd weekends. His friends come over and they play D&D and Magic: The Gathering. I don't think I could ever make fun of them for it because he loves it so much :(.

<div>Okay, but how often are nerd weekends? Because this is every week for us. And the snark/heckling come standard - he knows it, the party knows it, and they actually really like me over there because I remind them that it's just a game. These are the kind of people that fully absorb into it.</div>
In Response to Re: The weekend is near! : I dice and saute bell peppers, then I grill the caps top up for a few minutes, flip them, fill the caps with the bell peppers and top with a generous handfull of mozzarella cheese and finish grilling them till the cheese is all gooey. SO SO YUMMY!

Once a month, and they last the whole weekend with his friends staying the night between Saturday and Sunday. He spends the rest of his free time sorting his Magic cards, planning his D&D because he's the gamemaster and playing other video games. He's awesomely nerdy. He even built me a computer night before last so that I have something to use what with the stolen laptop and all.

<div>Ahh, now that makes more sense. My BF has DMed before, but he's not DMing for any of the 3 campaigns he's currently in, so I have trouble building to the level of enthusiasm right now that might be required. I just wish that it didn't occupy quite so much of his world -- but I wouldn't know what to do with him otherwise. So there you go. I complain about it, and I own that, but it does get me out with people. (Also, my BF has informed me that, being a stereotypical nerd, I am officially the pot calling the kettle black.)</div><div>
</div><div>Did your BF build you a laptop or desktop?</div>

A desktop, but a pretty good one spec-wise. I bought a Nexus to replace the portability aspect of my laptop.

<div>Okay, then two questions, which you have the right to not answer: 1.) What size Nexus, and do you like it? and 2.) What do you think of open source (software, OS, etc.)?</div>

    1. Nexus 7, 32 gigs, and I adore it.
    2. I'm for it. Tyler's more of the nerdy computer guy (my nerdiness is North Korean history and foreign language), but I'm pro-open everything.

Son, I still use Windows XP on my box. Tyler has 7 on his computer, but I'm still XP.

You are lucky to have skipped Vista, as it was the ME of its time.

<div>Yep, believe me, I intentionally skipped Vista. That was when I built my first computer ... ah, memories.</div>

Today (Friday): I closed at work (which means I was off at midnight). Now I'm browsing the internet before I watch some Doctor Who.

Tomorrow: I close at work and then will probably come home and be lazy and watch more television.

Sunday: I preclose so I can probably get some housework done after I get home around 10 or so.

Not a lot for my weekend.
