Being Judgey

Re: Being Judgey

  • Things I have judged in relation to other peoples weddings I've experienced: women pretending to be pregnant to get their boyfriends to propose (3 girls in 6 months!);  girls NOT from the country, or raised on a farm, insisting on their wedding party wearing boots; telling parents what they are supposed to pay for; being invited with a "and guest" when you very clearly know my FIs name; and my biggest Peeve ever...women who use the word "classy" to describe their dress, venue, vibe, theme, photography, church, flowers, etc.

I get it.  You think classy means something, when really it is an empty word now.

  • I judge people who say "friend as always been a flake and late for everything". then get upset because said friend is a BM and being a flake and late for appointments.      Like somehow being a BM is going to change them.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • I've never understood the lace and burlap trend either.

I am looking into the Fort Worth Stockyards as my venue which I guess some people could claim is "rustic" (don't like that either).  I just like how it is a more relaxed looking venue that can still be dressed up a little.  That and I've had a lot of great memories there so why not add another one.

If we didn't have the stockyards I definitely would not be seeking out a barn to get married in... ick!  I love barns, grew up riding horses and mucking stalls.... never would I choose a barn to get married in.

  • Barn weddings have become a big thing in our area too.  While I don't judge them I do always have to decline because I am highly allergic to all of the hay and burlap decor.  :(

</div><div>AND, now the word "vintage" (eventhough I am a fan) can get some very scary interpretations. Please, oh please overdone fairies don't take "vintage" from us!  I am amazed at the stuff that looks like it came straight from the trashcan that people call "vintage"---I want to say, NO HONEY, it is NOT vintage, it is gross and was on that neighbor no one likes curb- come on tell us the truth.</div><div>
</div><div>Now I must judge myself for using that particular word 4 times, oh dear...</div>
