Dental Work Yay!

Hey guys and gals. I just found out about two weeks ago that I am gonna have to get ANOTHER tooth pulled. The bad news is it's a tooth that underwent a root canal and they said it could be extra painful. I blame the dentist that performed the root canal because he refused to finish it and now it broken up and severe infected and I look like I constantly look like I have something hidden in that cheek.  he good news is after that is two or 3 fillings and then I can go to a orthodontist and get my consultation. I feel I need braces and the dentist said it wouldn't be a bad idea. Are there any other brides that will be sporting "metal mouth" for their big day? Any tips or tricks for braces?

Re: Dental Work Yay!

  • I don't have any tips myself, but my cousin's wife wore braces on her wedding day.  She really didn't care.  I'd see if you're a candidate for Invisalign or something similar, where you can't see the braces if you're concerned.  I've also heard of braces that sit on the back of your teeth, but I'm not sure about those.  If none of those work, ask for clear brackets.  They're still noticable, but not nearly as much as metal braces.

Other than than, keep them clean.  Floss daily, which is a PITA, and stay away form drinks that stain (red wine for example).  Since you say you feel like you need braces, and it's not coming initially from your dentist, could you hold off on them until after the wedding if you don't want to wear them for that day??  Never mind.  3.5 years out.  For all you know, they could well be off by then

  • Why would your dentist not finish the root canal?  And once there's a root canal on a tooth you should put a crown over it because the tooth becomes very brittle.

    Very bizarre
