[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Arrest made in Boston : Yes, that is what I'm talking about.  And the meme was an example, using the mascots in a similar fashion to this one.  I did have tons of memes and posts that were similar last year, however, including the saying in question with an empty syringe pop up.  Also people who are "coping" or "grieving" in their own way.

Stage, did you lose friends in that event?
  • First of all, obviously, if you lose a son or a friend or a sister, that's what you're grieving. That's its own personal nightmare.

But luckily, that's not what most of us are going through when these kinds of things happen. It's anger and terror and sadness and survivor's guilt, all those things, and alone, you're pretty much helpless. You need solidarity, even if it's just arbitrary or temporary. So for me, anything that basically said "We have something in common other than this horrible nightmare" was worth its weight in gold. Anything that said "Don't forget that this city is more than just That Place Where That Terrible Thing Happened." And that's the feeling I get from the mascots image.

(Katrina is kind of a different story altogether, so I can't really draw too many parallels. But I thought I'd go on record as saying that's exactly the kind of thing we did here, and still do, and I kind of can't imagine it any other way.)

No she does not Ally and had you bothered to read through to the end, you would know that this is a sensitive subject for her because of her connection to the Oklahoma City bombing.

Yes, stage has a connection to the Oklahoma City bombing and that makes this is a sensitive subject for her.

....And this isn't a sensitive subject for anyone else? Or just stage? I'm not sure why your post is rubbing me the wrong way. Maybe it's because we're <em>all</em> connected in some way to some sort of disaster or tragedy, but you feel the need to single out just one person?

I was responding to Ally's post that was directed at Stage.  I never said or insinuated that nobody else's POV caused them to be sensitive about this.  Jump to conclusions much?

I know you were responding to Ally's post and I wasn't "jumping to conclusions."
stage was deeply affected by the Oklahoma City bombings and therefore that is a sensitive subject for her. I understand that.

I had a really good response typed out, but TK mobile glitched on me.

In short Ally you had nothing to add to this thread but giving Stage grief, WTF was the point?

</div><div>I did read the whole thing, that's how I knew she was giving OP a TON of grief because of a picture showing her pride of her city. OP posted a meme. How is that insulting Stage's connection to the OKC bombing? I think Stage read a little too into it.

</div><div>This thread was about a false report of an arrest. What else do you want me to say? I'm pretty positive I'm not the first person to respond solely to what another person said in a thread. If I were, there would have never been any drama in this place in the history of ever, which we certainly know isn't the case. </div><div>
</div><div>You probably shouldn't be involved in online forums if you're so against responding to what someone says in a post. In fact you just did it yourself</div>
