NWR: appropriate thank you gift suggestions

I am coming to the end of my sixteen weeks of student teaching and I have had PHENOMENAL cooperating teachers to work with. A card thanking them just doesn't seem like enough, but I am struggling to come up with gift ideas that are appropriate for a student teacher to give a cooperating teacher (supervisor) and isn't too expensive. Further complicating things is that I had four teachers that I worked closely with, two in my department (who were my supervisors) and two in separate departments that I co-taught with.

Help?

(And for all who gave advice in my "tell me it doesn't matter" thread about graduating with honors - thank you again! I received the A I needed this semester and will be graduating Cum Laude next month!)

A gift certificate to a nice restaurant, a massage gift certificate or one for a manicure/pedicure?  Those are my suggestions,  I'm also thinking some lotions or bath stuff?  I got this peppermint foot scrub from FMIL for Xmas that I love.

  • Oh I love the Yankee candle idea too. I love candles and they have some really different scents too.

  • Thanks ladies! My two supervisors are men, so I'm not sure a spa gift card would be entirely appropriate, but for the two mainstream co-teachers (I'm in special education) who are women, that could definitely work. I like the idea of a restaurant gift card, but I'm not familiar with where they like to eat and a decent meal around here with drinks easily runs $70-$100 for two adults. I unfortunately really can't afford to spend $300-$400 on thank you gifts. But I will look more into that :)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: NWR: appropriate thank you gift suggestions : The best part about them is, if for some reason you don't like how it smells, you can return it.  Even if you've already burned through like half of it.  Their return policy is SUPER flexible.  Granted, you return one and get another, not $$.

    I never knew that, but I don't think I've ever burned a yankee candle I didn't like.

  • Congratulations on your honors!

Maybe have something delivered to their break room. An edible arrangement, some gourmet cupcakes from a local bakery? Edible gifts are always winners in my eyes.

Do you know if they like wine? You can get them each a nice bottle of wine.

If you'd prefer to give them something that's not edible (blasphemy!):
http://www.etsy.com/shop/VintageConfections (OK fine their products are edible, but they're so cool!)
http://shop.eatboutique.com/collections/gourmet-market/products/belle-chevre-diy-cheese-kit  (OK fine this is edible too, but c'mon, cheese-making kit?)
  • Yankee candle always has buy one get one free coupons on their website!! As for the guys, what about a gift card for buffalo wild wings??
  • Maybe just some cookies?
