FMIL has pretty much lost her shiznit. Without going into too much detail, she's taking the view that FH and FBIL have disowned her as a mother by going to their father's wedding and so she's flouncing off to Florida to visit her mother.

But her mother, despite not really liking FFIL even before the divorce, is not inclined to take her side. No doubt she'll spend her entire stay texting FH nonstop, so that should be fun.

The one good thing about all this is that FH has finally gotten tired of mediating his family's nonsense and is washing his hands of it. We'll see what happens.

*sigh* the crazy was a lot more bearable when she was just being racist about me.

    I have many FMIL issues myself. I feel your pain. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this right now

    Mine was hoping we'd change our wedding day because it was his father's bday and was jealous that we were honoring him more some how. We didn't even remember it was his birthday...it was simply that the weekend before didn't work and the weekend after wasn't ideal.

    Oh, FMIL is her own brand of cray-cray.

    But the thing is, things have actually improved a lot just between last Thanksgiving and Easter. I'm still not sure how much she actually likes me, but she's been trying to get to know me instead of just tolerating my existence. Which, you know, is good.

    I think she may be able to calm down and move past this, since she did eventually get over the interracial relationship thing. I'm really just hoping she doesn't cause too much fallout before she gets there.
