What does Friday/Weekend bring for you?

I'm going to take "Exhaustion" for $500, Alec.

Tomorrow, I have to go to my office in CT. That's a 4.5 hour drive each way.

I was just in a conference call/meeting held by our customer service manager and my response to her request for feedback was "it kind of felt like we were 9 year olds scolded in a classroom when someone broke the pencil sharpener trying to sharpen a crayon and no one wanted to own up to it" . I can't tell if that will make her laugh or piss her off but I'll find out tomorrow.

Sunday, I am having dinner with the Best Man and his girlfriend who was recently demoted from fiance (after 2 months of dating, if you recall). She's been texting other men, telling him she loves them. That's going to be a wicked fun night!!

I wish it were NEXT Thursday. What's the weekend going to be like for y'all?

  • Cleaning and organizing. I have a spare room that looks like an episode of Hoarders.

  • Tomorrow my diplomas should be finally put in the mail after a grueling two months of trying to clear up something at the university. This weekend I hope to drag my FI shopping for a few wedding crafty items and possibly hit up some game stores. Nothing too exciting going on here.
  • That best man situation sounds super awk. Best of luck to you!

Tonight I'm having a come to Jesus with my MOH and the way she's been treating me and herself the last week. I'm so tired of it. Then we happily get to hop in a car and drive to Austin for my bachelorette party on Saturday!

Tomorrow I may try tanning for the first time. I'm nervous. I'll also take care of SEVERAL wedding things left to do. Lots of errands before Friday night.

Friday night is pregaming the bachelorette in Austin.

Sunday is work, nice and hungover. We're watching Wreck It Ralph. It'll be my last time with my kids until I come back from my honeymoon. We're so close, I can taste it!

  • Definitely some cleaning (never did that after having people over last weekend) then we have to decide if we want to see one of FI's friends bands or go out for sushi for the birthday of a girl we hardly talk to. I will also probably spend some time begging FI to go tux/suit shopping so we can tell the GM what they're wearing. But that's happened every weekend for the past 2 months.

  • Cleaning my room and arranging our front room - we're changing it from an awkward, second sitting room that no one uses to a music room. I may bribe my friends into helping me make coffee filter roses this weekend (wine and cookies make for such a good bribe) but we'll see if I feel like making cookies. Either way I'll get started on those roses at some point this weekend.

Tomorrow H is off (and I'm on spring break this week), so we are going hiking at a nearby state park since the weather is so nice. I'm excited about that.

Sat. H works and I have a TON of cleaning to do. My parents are watching our dog next week while we travel for FIL's surgery, so I want them to have a sparkling clean house to stay in. Sunday is our errand day--walk the dog, do laundry, grocery shop, etc.

That's not how it's supposed to go!!

Did he call off the engagement because of the texting?

I have a bunch of painting commissions I need to work on- they are for miniature wargaming so they are 28mm and 15mm figures. They are paying for my wedding dress :-)

And hopefully I can make it out to the barn to start getting my horse back in shape after the winter.

[QUOTE]This weekend, it brings watching multiple student productions that I really don't want to see. Nothing against the students, but I've only seen 30 thousand productions of A Doll's House, and I just have very little personal interest in African American theatre, what with being white and all. So, staying an extra 4.5 hours on Friday night and then driving an hour BACK over here on Saturday or Sunday is making me grumpy.

Seriously though, I don't mean to sound bigoted, I just personally do not enjoy sitting around watching Tyler Perry-esque theatre or movies. I don't relate to it, in the same way, I'm fairly sure our lovely professor of AA Theatre who is from Chicago originally doesn't really get ersonal emotional fulfillment from watching Steel Magnolias. :) The only "black" movie I've ever seen that I personally enjoyed was Kingdom Come and it's a direct adaptation of a play about white rural "trailer trash" southerners!

Hahaha. Have you seen The Last King of Scotland? I guess you could call it a 'black' movie, but it is intense, and deep, and awesome. Definitely worth a look-see if you haven't already. But I feel your pain. I just wanted to use that gif and you made me laugh, so I figured it worked. :P

Yep, this hot body is crazy pale. My BFF had just renewed her tanning subscription and then got divorced and moved to the other side of the city, so she passed it along to me. I don't really know what to expect.

Naw I agree with you. I don't "get" the typical "black" comedy. It doesn't make me laugh. Although, Fresh Prince, Family Matters and pre-Nutty Professor, Eddie Murphy (like Beverly Hills Cop) I've always enjoyed.

No one I know that frequently is with me gets anything I watch though either. Like Fawlty Towers always makes me crack up.

Steel Magnolias is one of the only chick flicks I will purposefully watch on my own.

  • Buying our rings and buying my "shuncheon" dress (combination of "luncheon" what it should have been and "shower" which my mom told everyone it is).

    Excited for that!

  • I get to see my hubby this weekend :) I'm super stoked!

We're going to a dance at my school (think prom but for grad students, and with lots of liquor) and then spending the rest of the weekend hanging out and maybe doing a few fun things in Nashville before I finally graduate in May.

  • DH has off tomorrow. I really don't. So Im sending him to the dog park, get the car washed and other random stuff so I can work unti noon or so. Then we are going out for lunch and hanging out.

DH works on Saturday, not sure about Sunday? My parents move to China next Friday so I think we will try and meet up with them this weekend.

It's suppose to be a nice weekend, so long walks to the park will be in order. Maybe even a bike ride.

[QUOTE]I was supposed to go to a friends' birthday party tomorrow night. But, she called me talking about it and said that my ex's sister is going. Long story short, the sister played a BIG role in our breakup (for which I am kinda thankful), and said some nasty things to me. I told my friend that I am declining the party since this woman brings back a lot of bad memories for me. (it's no secret that the two of us don't get along). SO, DH and I will be taking it easy. Since I'm a consultant, my life is never dull. Depending on what happens in the next 24 hours, it looks like I'll start traveling again (probably to Phoenix) for work.

  • We have no plans really which is nice. I'll probably do a lot more packing and we need to get to Home Depot to look at refridgerators and dishwashers for the new home. We will probably head to church also. I'm trying to get him to see Evil Dead with me.

  • I'm going to visit one of my BFF's in Washington DC this weekend. I've never been and I hear it's peek for the cherry blossoms! So excited!
