Accessories

I saw this while procrastinating on Etsy and wanted to share.  I received one of these sashes from my maid of honor to wear to my bridal shower, bachlorette party, and during my wedding weekend.  I am so happy to see that they are available again!

Is it possible that you're advertsing your own product? If so, that's not allowed. Given your profile location and the location of the Etsy seller, I'm suspicious.

FWIW, I wouldn't buy these for $40. That's REALLY pricey, especially when you can buy one very similar for like $5 at a party store.
  • I hate to say this but this has a vendor vibe to it.  Especially seeing how this is your first post and you are promorting an Etsy seller.

Please take this as your first warning.

  • So I wasn't going to respond because I didn't need the drama, but I suppose I will due to the fact that now I feel like I need to clear my name.  First and foremost, I am in no way affiliated with this woman.  Yes, she and I are both from Frederick.  Frederick is a small town as anyone on the DC area boards would know.  She used to sell her stuff at local craft fairs and small shops downtown (where my MOH purchased mine) and I just found her on Etsy.  If I were this woman, I think I would be smart enough to create a fake screen name or something.

Second, the logic that this is my first post is flawed.  I was married almost 4 years ago and had a destination wedding in Mexico.  I actively participated on the Best Desitnation Wedding forum which has a much larger network of DW brides than this one.  I was logged in to my account on The Bump and figured I would post this in what I thought was an appropriate place - I now see my mistake.

Finally, yes, it is true you can purchase a paper sash at the party store for $5, clearly this is meant as a keepsake/heirloom, not something that is disposable.  If I could delete the post, I would.  I certainly wasn't trying to cause any problems or violate any rules.  I know my place now, I think I'll just stick to the baby boards.  Sorry if I offended anyone!

You didn't offend anyone, you just have to follow the rules.

FWIW, yes, you can get embroidered satin sashes just like the ones you posted on Amazon or a Party store for $10-$15.

Since apparently you have posted on boards before you know that we can only go by what you post.  Your entire post was promoting this Etsy seller and with being from the same area made it seem that you were in fact the seller.

Also, your post history notes 2 post.  The OP and the post that I am replying to.  Thus why I stated "your first post" in my reply.  Again, I can only go off what I see.

I think you are being a bit defensive.  You did not offend anyone.  Since you have posted on these boards before and most likely The Bump now you know how public forums work.  You post something and people respond and they don't always respond the way you would like them to.  You should also know how Moderators work and from the look of  your original post I had every right to suspect you were a vendor.  But I gave you the benefit of the doubt.  I provided you with a warning and I did not ban you.

I wish you well and good luck in the future.
