Alfred Angelo Disney...alterations HELP!!

So I've bought "THE" dress already.  It is the Alfred Angelo Cinderella Style 205.  I am wondering how you all have seen it altered (or maybe similar dresses).  I am most likely going to have buttons added on the back where the zipper is, with loops so that the zipper will be hidden.  I am going to have to have a bustle added in, also.  But I have NO idea what type of bustle would look good on a huge tulle ballgown with an empire waist.

Anyone have any ideas about how to bustle the train?
Also, anyone have a bra sewn into this dress (or would a regular bra be ideal)?

Please send pictures if this was your dress (it makes me so excited to see others in such a beautiful dress!!)

Love this link for bustle ideas! However, you should consult a seamstress to get her ideas on a bustle for your specific dress since it is multi-layer tulle.

As for bra, you could get away with a regular bra on this one. But it is all about what you feel more comfortable with. I feel that a regular bra might offer more support.

  • My friend has a tulle bottom dress for her wedding as well.  What the seamstress did was put in a french bustle to the satin underlayer and then did a multi-point bustle over bustle (I think she has 8 points) to the tulle.

As for the bra/cups, it really depends on what you are most comfortable with.  If you don't want to deal with another layer under your dress then have cups sewn in.

  • Thanks for the ideas, ladies! I will look into that specific type of bustle.
  • I'm watching this one closely because I have the same dress and the same issue with the bustle. I'm surprised that there aren't many photos of this dress bustled, I would have thought there'd have been more. I'm going to search flickr I guess.

As for the bust issue...I'm like an H cup, so....yeah, I've no idea on that one yet. I'll probably end up getting a strapless bra, or a corset or something.
  • I also have this Cinderella dress and my wedding is in two weeks and have no idea how to bustle it! I didn't think to even ask the bridal salon and they are now several hours away. I also don't need it altered in anyway, but every website talks about the seamstress adding it. Did you find a solution with this dress?!
  • Where are you having it altered? I found Alfred Angelo's prices (if you are buying it at an Alfred Angelo salon) to be super affordable. I was surprised.
