Custom Made Etsy Dress

Hello,

Has anyone purchased a wedding dress from an etsy seller lemandyweddingdress shop owner li Rose?

It states she is a shop owner from China.  The reviews for her are mostly positive with only a few negative on the site but I'm not sure what to believe.  I've been researching a lot of the cheaper dresses online like inweddingdress.com and found so so reviews for all.  I'm just wondering if anyone has any recent purchases or advice in these situations as most post are older.

Thanks for your help!

I ordered a custom-made dress from an etsy seller and was really satisfied.  It was not nearly as cheap as the ones you're looking at, but still relatively cheap compared to designer gowns (I paid $900).

She is based in the US, and all her sample photos are of real people wearing her gowns, not stock photos, which it looks like the seller you posted uses most of the time.

The dress I received was well made, quality materials, and for the most part, fit really well.  I did have some issues with the bust, but I think it was somewhat unavoidable because I have a very large chest, and the fit of ANY dress you order will not be perfect unless the dressmaker is actually there to fit it to your body.  But she made it quickly, and exactly how I wanted it.

Really be careful with these sellers.  I'm sure there are some China-based seamstresses who can make nice, quality gowns... but most of the foreign sellers out there are using cheap materials and very cheap labor, probably sweatshop style.  They cut corners, like using glue instead of hand beading or embroidering things.

You really get what you pay for, and if you're paying $200 for an elaborate beaded or lace gown, it's not going to be good quality.  Check reviews, and if possible, try and google the seller to find reviews OUTSIDE etsy.

  • I would be careful with ANY seller from China. If it were me, I wouldn't do it. Look for a US seller.
