Would this look ok?

Considering rotating the bridal party in clover green and chocolate dresses/tuxes and having the flowers in yellow, orange and a little red. We are getting married late September at a State Park's small amphitheater surrounded by pine trees. ould this work ok (5 colors) since they are all fall color?

I would strongly reconsider the chocolate brown tuxedos. It's a really dated look and it hasn't caught on for a reason...

I know my DH wouldn't be caught dead in a brown suit or tux. Does your FI want to wear a brown tux?

The women in a green dress with a brown sash could look really nice though.
  • The 5 color combo sounds really pretty but I would reconsider the brown tuxedos. I think standard black would look much better.
  • How about beige or tan tux with brown vest? Fiancée does not want white and likes not doing black.
  • Our local (non-chain) men's formal wear shop rents out suits that come in a better color selection than tuxes. They are less expensive to rent than tuxedos. If your wedding is not going to be formal, a suit in tan or brown would look very nice.

  • CMGr - Have you been looking at my wedding album? My bms wore qiana knit dresses, each a different pastel shade. The men, including my groom, wore brown tuxedos. It was the 70's.  It seemed like a good idea at the time. Those pictures make me cringe, now.

  • OP this sounds like too many different colors to me - you have to use ALL of them just because they are fall colors.  I would stick with 3 max. I also am not a big fan of the brown, but I think black tuxes with a color tie/vest and/or pocket square will give you the pop of color you are looking for.

There was a post a month or two ago where someone compared bridesmaids dressed all in brown to a bunch of.....can't say it. Please do not do brown tuxedos. Brown is such a weak color. eta....a mix of fall colors on the bridesmaids sounds beautiful.
  • Actually, I love the color scheme.  Though I have not seen a brown tux.  So I cannot contribute either way their.  But I've read the other comments and it made me think...  Brown is a pretty color on a dress!!  Men- khaki pant, white oxford shirt, and clover green vests!  Or just clover green oxford style shirts.  Either way.  Just depends on how dressy your going.  But if Tux is a must (formality of the venue?) I have to agree with black.  It is a neutral, and will not harm your color scheme.   so, I guess I'm saying in my opinion not to rotate the colors on the BM dresses.
I want a love like Johnny & June!
  • I love brown tuxedos.  If it weren't for the fact that grey is my favorite color I think I would ask my fiance to wear a brown tuxedo.  What I would probably do is have the dresses be green with either a brown sash or wrap, the tuxedos be brown with a green vest,  yellow flowers, and orange and red decorations for both the ceremony and reception.  That's just my opinion and at the end of the day it's not my wedding so do whatever makes you and your fiance happy.
