wedding dress

is it a good idea to order a wedding dress online?

Re: wedding dress

  • Only if it is a reputable source with a good return policy like Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. People often get scammed by online dress stores particularly the ones that promise designer dresses at lower prices. I advise you to read the sticky on the top of the page.
  • You can also check Etsy for made-to-measure dresses, and David's Bridal has an online section, too. I've also found ready-to-wear wedding dresses online at Coast, Monsoon, JCrew and ShopRuche.

But, AndreaJulia is right - most sites that offer cheap custom dresses are scammy. There's a list of sites to avoid at the top of the board.
  • The only time it is ever a good idea to order your dress online is if...
    1) you are working with a legitimate website.  Check out the post-it at the top of the board for a list of knock-off sites to stay away from
    2) you have tried the dress on in person and know that it is the one you love and want to wear on your wedding day.  Pictures are not always the best thing to go by.  Many times what you think looks great in a picture or on a 5'10" 100 pound model will most likely not be something that  you like on your self.  You need to try dresses on.  It is the only way to really know what looks good on you and what you like.
