Unpop Ops

I don't understand why people always put haha or lol at the end of posts, esp when it isn't even funny.

I don't understand why people make a big deal out of cutting the cake and then smashing it in each other's faces. 1. Don't mess up my makeup! 2. Cake is sticky.

</div><div>I don't have an unpop op for today.  I'm always trying to think of one but I am either too nieve in thinking that I hold the popular opinion or I completely lack self awareness.  Feel free to call it out when you see it.  </div>

Unpop Op - I have friends who have kids and they always have these cutesy little parties and pictures, which they claim are so original, and they claim they are so creative.  Turns out, they just troll pinterest and recreate things that other, more creative, people have done in the past.  I have seen brides do this on other boards a few times (especially DIY).  Am I using pinterest?  Sure.  Will I give pinterest credit for all my brilliant ideas?  You betcha.

<div>Agreed, Rochelle. I have a friend who is getting married in October. They have already decided how they will announce their pregnancy. Mind you, they're not pregnant & don't plan on kids until they celebrate their year anniversary. *eyeroll*</div><div>
</div><div>My unpop op: I don't mind getting muddy, as long as I dont have wet feet.</div>

Thankfully FI's best man told him not to do this.  At his own wedding he shoved it in his wife's face and it ended up her nose, she was less than thrilled and it was right before their first dance, so all of their wedding pictures have her PO'd looking at him.

I know my brother and father will encourage my FI to smush, but I'm hoping he'll be a better man than that!

My unpop op for the day- if you're sick, stay home from work!  Don't share your germies with everyone else.

One of my employees is behind in her work because she hasn't worked a full, normal week schedule in 6 weeks... she gave me strep throat last week, because she came in when she was feeling craptastic.  I ended up taking 3 sick days because I felt uber crappy and didn't want to share my misery.

Well her son ends up with the stomach bug on Wednesday into Thursday. She comes in late Thursday after getting him to keep some food down.  She informs another coworker via text this morning, that he got sick again last night and she's not feeling that great but she's still planning on coming in today, since she's so behind.

We're a small office, a stomach bug could put us all out, but she's insisting on coming in.  Ugh.

I am our office manager, if I realize someone is so sick that others can/will catch it, I make them go home. I had issues with my lymph nodes a few years back and they removed some, I get anything and everything Dan brings home, I don't need it from work either.

Thank you! I wish more people would be like that.

My boss separates our sick time from vacation time, specifically so that we take time off when we're sick.  My boss made the comment when I finally was cleared to return to work that I haven't used that much sick time in the 6 years I've been here, other than when I had surgery.

Some of us have the luxury of being able to work from home, unfortunately this employee cannot.  So I get that she's overwhelmed with being behind in her work, but it's her own fault for a multitude of reasons... I have no problem with personal conversations between employees but don't be having multiple conversations that take you away from your desk (and your ability to do any work) and then complain that you don't have enough time to get your work done.  I'm on TK right now, because I just finished a project ahead of schedule and have a few minutes to burn before transition...

    Okay, rant over.

  • Another one: I don't care if the grey/teal/ivory are all the exact same shade. I don't care if my BM & MOH match. I want them to be happy. I don't care if my FMIL wears a grey dress. She knows my girls are wearing grey. Whatever. I don't think she'll look like she's part of the WP.

I don't like sweet tea. Or unsweet tea. I don't like cold tea - but hot tea is okay.

<div>I will kill my fiance if he does that.  People think its funny...I do not.  For what it will cost to have my hair and make up done...not to mention what I spent on my desk....absolutely not.  I already told him he better not even be thinking about it!!  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>

<div>My fiance and I have already agreed there will be no cake smashing in anyone's face.</div>
  • I definitely bought these cute "I do" and "me too" forks off etsy so that the cake smashing won't happen.

Thay're SO cute in person! I'm trying to figure out a way to frame them after the wedding too (saw that on pinterest).
