Invites- Need Opinions!

Hey everyone! I am trying to finalize invites this week. I personally am not that into the invites and while I want to find a design I like I don't want to spend a ton of money on them and am not super concerned with every little detail of them.

With that being said, I have found most of the invites I like on websites like Wedding Paper Divas, Minted, Etsy. I really like the prices, design etc. of the ones I have found but I want some opinions on going with an online invite vs. invites through a person with a book etc.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Re: Invites- Need Opinions!

  • I designed my own and am having them printed through cards&pockets.com. I will have to assemble everything though. They will be under $3 an invite for 200 invites.

  • Not sure exactly what kind of opinions you're looking for... I'm ordering my invites from Cards & Pockets. I have no problems with it. I ordered my STDs from WPD - and they turned out great.

My coworker ordered her invites through a brick&mortar place. She wanted something super customized, though, for her DW. She's happy with her choice.

I guess I say if you like the designs, and aren't super concerned with every detail, why not order online?
  • Wedding Paper Divas and Minted will also provide free samples.  You might want to order some samples and take a look at them in person before ordering.

I ordered a bunch of samples from various sites and it's really nice to see them in person. It is helping me make a better decision!

<div>Ok great! I just want to make sure I'm not forgetting some big factor with going with a brick and mortar. Thanks!</div>
  • Thanks for the suggestions on Cards&Pockets ladies!

I ordered my STDs from BasicInvite.com and I'm 100% happy with them, but, I didn't find anything on their site that just overwhelmed me for my invites.  Ditto WPD, but am drawing a blank on Minted.

I'm off to go peruse C&P (and Minted too) now!  :)

That said, when I was looking; I hit up Zazzle, Michael's, Hobby Lobby...really ANY place that might have invites I could do on my own!

Also, I'm not sure if you have a dress already, but Alfred Angelo also sells invites, and as one of their "brides", I -think- they offer a deal on those as well.

Honestly, I'm finding that invitations are the hardest part of planning.  :(  I think because I have a mental image of what I want, but to make it a reality is WAY out of the price range I want to spend (even though FI says he's okay spending $400 on less than 100 invites.  Weirdo.).
