Vacation Time

Are you ladies taking any days off of work before your big day? I know my mom will be in town for like, a full week before, and my sister will probably be coming in early too. I don't think I would be able to handle taking a full week off before the wedding (I'm in the middle of a hopeful job transition, so that's part of it). 

How many days, if any, are you taking off before your ceremony?

We are getting married on a Sunday. I am taking the Friday off before.

I am taking off starting that Wed and then through the whole week after. I have 4 weeks vacation time to use.

Not sure. I hope to take off the Friday before our Saturday wedding, possibly Thursday as well.

I will probably return Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then leave for our honeymoon on Thursday.  Then, I would return back on Wednesday morning.

So, that is 6 days - 2 work days before the wedding, then 4 work days after. 

There is also a chance that our rehearsal dinner will be the Thursday night before our wedding, so that might be another reason to take off Thursday as well. Or, I might work Thursday anyway. I think it all depends on how organized I am by that point.

Our reception venue is very close to our house (15 minutes) so I would be able to drop stuff off there after work any day that week - I don't necessarily need a day off for prep...but I might want it anwyay.

Good question - I should probably think about this some more!

I am not sure. Right now I am taking off work beginning the thursday before my Sunday wedding and the Monday and Tuesday after. I am hoping to have found a more permanent job by then so those dates might change (right now I work for Starbucks but I want a job that uses my masters degrees).

Right now the plan is to take off the Wednesday and Thursday before the wedding. My mom is taking the whole week, bless her. 

We're delaying our honeymoon a week and a half, because we both want to get some work stuff wrapped up at the beginning of the month so we can truly enjoy our honeymoon!

Taking the Friday (Oct 4th) before the wedding off. Working Mon-Wed leaving for the Honeymoon on Thursday (Oct 10) and coming home from the honeymoon on Monday (Oct 21st). Going back to work on the 22nd. At my job we can take off whatever time we want as long as we get someone to cover for us. And if you can't get someone to cover as long as you tried and have a good reason they let you go (good reason=wedding/honeymoon!)

I am taking of Thursday and Friday before.  Then, I am taking off Tuesday (Monday is a federal holiday, so I get that off anyway).

I'm doing exactly the same as Stina and McSteph...plus the Monday following the week after to recover from the honeymoon since we get back Sunday night at 11:55 pm

i wish i could take more time off but i'm at least taking the friday before the wedding off since we are doing a rehearsal lunch at the house that i'll have to prepare for, maybe thrusday too.  i gotta see when it gets closer what kind of time i will need.  we are going on the honeymoon right after the wedding, so there goes my 2 weeks a year right with that alone, anything extra and i'll be in the hole, which isn't really a problem but i hate doing it.

Rochelle I'm jealous you get the holiday, FI does too.

As of right now we are planning to leave for my hometown where the wedding is after work on Thursday.  Do whatever needs to be done on Friday, deliver welcome bags to the hotels and greet guests, I have no idea what else would need to be done.  We can't decorate the venue cause there is a wedding Friday night so friends of my mom are decorating it Saturday morning for us, love them.  As of right now we are planning a 9 day honeymoon, I'm planning to use up 10 days total ideally.

Oh...and I'll be taking the next week and a half off after the wedding. We are going to VA for an event, so we are making a honeymoon out of it.

We're both taking two days off before the wedding so that we can get our marriage license and welcome my friends from out of town. He's going back to work on Monday, but I'm taking off Monday through Wednesday as well so that I can visit with my friends before they have to go home.

I am taking off starting the Wednesday before the wedding, the week after and taking Monday and Tuesday after the honeymoon to recover.  I am not taking any summer vacation time (jus days off from my dress fittings).

Right now, I'm just taking Friday, Monday and Tuesday for our Saturday wedding.

No honeymoon for us since we've both just started new jobs (mine in December, his last month).

Thinking I might convince him to take a 3 or 4 day weekend with the Harley though.  Or with the horses.  SOMETHING!!
