Hi there!
My FH and I are having a small wedding and reception at a local restaurant. We're inviting 9 guests, and ordering cupcakes. I'm going to order twice as many as the number of guests, so we can give each person one to take home in one of these super cute boxes. I'm thinking we'll print labels that say "Thank you for celebrating with us" or something:
Is this a good idea? Would it look cheap if our cupcakes doubled as favours? Everyone can have one at dinner, and then take one home, so I'm hoping it doesn't look like we've skimped.
And, since our wedding is super small, we have quite a few friends that we couldn't invite. Would it be weird if we gave them boxed wedding cupcakes, as well? If not, what should we print on their boxes?

<div>Eating a cupcake there AND getting to take one home?? How could you not love that!</div><div>
</div><div>I would NOT give them to people who were not invited though. That's like rubbing it in their face that they were not invited.</div>
@itzMS - Wow, I didn't think about that. What do you suggest? I like the idea of edible favours as opposed to a trinket, but I'm not sure what else I should give the guests. I read somewhere that small weddings should have personalized favours like gift bags, but I'm worried that would get very expensive.
My FH said that we shouldn't give gifts because it's just our parents and siblings. I don't understand his logic, so I'm making up favours anyways.
[QUOTE]I would be perfectly happy with a cupcake, but I would not like having it boxed unless the box has a little round slot in it to keep the cupcakes upright. Otherwise, it's a mess waiting to happen. For 9 people, I'd "splurge" and get 9 of those plastic reusable individual cupcake holders at Walmart or BBB. I would love that as a guest because I would get a cupcake AND a nifty random kitchen thing that I would never buy for myself, but would likely use if I had. Then again, H is a teacher, so we usually have leftover cupcakes from class parties and holidays that I would take to work if I had a way to transport it neatly.

That's a great idea! Something like this, right? I'm having a hard time tracking them down online in the UK but hopefully I can find some at Walmart when I'm home next week. :)

Maybe see if on Etsy you can find a vendor who would make little chocolates with their names?
Or when you send the RSVP put...
Please select your preferred flavor of cupcake:
a. mocha-chocolate mousse
b. lemon curd/lemon
c. vanilla-raspberry creme
d. cookies-n-cream
(or whatever flavors) and then do the flavors they pick (one for the event, one for home) via a local bakery?
And I love the idea of the holders - very cool!
