What to give as gift for the bridal shower

My friend registered on honeyfund.com so I will be using that online registry to contribute to the honeymoon as the wedding present. What should I be bringing as a gift to the bridal shower? I've seen people recommend a registry gift at the shower and cash at the weddin but since the registry is essentially for cash, I'm not sure what to bring as a gift and dont want to attend empty handed.

  • Exactly why I taked a friend into making a small registry before her shower...

But yeah, I'd personally go with something simple - Photo frame, vase, etc. since showers are about opening gifts, not checks...

I think I would ask the hostess where she's registered. If the hostess says nowhere but honeyfund, I would decline the shower invite.

Honestly, the purpose of a shower is to give physical gifts. If you don't register, you'll get repeats and things you don't need (and likely can't return). Does your friend want 5 George Foreman Grills? Seriously..
  • I've heard of the honeymoon fund shower gift before, and totally agree that I'd want to still have something to bring to the shower. Frames, vases, cookbooks, or household decor items are nice ideas. Especially if you know the bride & groom's decor style. You could also go with something more personal. As an engagement gift we got a bottle of champagne that was labelled, 'For Your Wedding Night' from a guest, that I thought was a really neat idea! It doesn't have to be an $$ bottle, maybe even go with one that has a fun label! :) I thought this was really cool!

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
