cake-- need help

hello ladies
I am in need of some quick and dirty advice.  300 person wedding cake-  is $600 a good price?  high? low?  I liked the cake we tasted-- they can do the design i want and i just don't feel like shopping around.  thanks in advance

That works out to what, $2 a slice?  That's almost cheaper than if you walked into a bakery right now and wanted a cupcake.  In fact, it is!  I think it's good.

We are paying a little less than that for 250, so it sounds right to me!

very good. thanks for the help ladies.  btw its bartram house bakery, which is delicious.  I just hope they confirm the price at $600 tomorrow- if so, its a done deal.

That is an insanely good price. The cheapest rate I saw going was $2.75 a slice for a very very basic design. We're (sigh) paying $7 a slice but it's a very labor intensive layered fondant and painted design with sugarpaste flowers at an already pricey bakery. We "only" need 100 slices though. Take that estimate and (as long as you like the way the cake tastes) run with it!
