Friday 4/12
Programs needed to be printed so I went to my mentor who also did my invitations and we went straight to work. We printed the inside paper no problem but when it came down to the outside a thicker piece of paper it kept jamming the printer and pulling in like 6 sheets at once, which messed up many sheets of paper in the process so we took a trip to Michael's to get more. On our way I realized that I forgot to pick up the marriage license so we were going to have to shop quickly because it was already after 1. We got what we needed from Michael's and I decided to go to Marshall's and get me and the boys an outfit for the night I went with black pants and a white shirt for the three of us. We got back to mentor's office and she took the programs from me and assured she would have finish them and arrive early Sun so they would be ready at least an hour before ceremony start time. I start heading home and stopped at the produce junction to get my girls some practice flowers for rehearsal. I left there picked up my Ryan's and we went to get our license. We had to go pick up a groomsmen and still go back home and get dressed. It was pushing 5pm and FI was to meet with all the GM at Men's Wearhouse to pick up their tux's. I dropped him off there and headed to the bank then dollar store to pick up a few items. I got back to MW to get the guys right as they were finishing up. It was like 6pm on the dot but the hotel was right across the street so we weren't running too late. (Rehearsal was to start at 6:30 but I had to be there at 6 to give a final payment and to go over how Sunday would flow). You know how we're supposed to give them a final number of like 10 less of those who rsvp, well it was hard because just a couple days before that I gave her the total entrée options and she was comparing that number to my final number and looked at my seating chart and compared those numbers too and she tried to get me to pay for my real total but I simply let her know I didn't want any chaos that day with them having to put out extra tables just in case we had any show ups so she bought that story (thank goodness cuz wait til u see how many didn't show smh). I had 135 adults and 10 children on the seating chart. It was time to pay and I was missing like $400 and I began pannicking so I had to use a credit card I didn't want to use. I was looking for that money so hard and running between my car and the ladies office all while the bridal party began to arrive and asking me a million questions they already knew the answer to. People were running late or didn't come and my dj was a no-show. SIL invited her MIL to rehearsal and she came up with a really unique way for everyone to come in. I used my phone for music, which was dying, so everyone could hear the songs they would be walking to. Despite no shows, latenesses and attitudes rehearsal went well and I was satisfied. Dinner was at my grandmom's jerk chicken, curry chicken, curry goat, cabbage, rice and peas, potatoe salad, macaroni salad, fried chicken pound cake for dessert. Everything was delish! I noticed everyone was starting to get the itis so I brought everyone downstairs so we could do a harlem shake video lol it was fun we did like 4 of them. Everyone pretty much left after that.
Sat 4/13
I had some errands to run. I planned on being out the house by 9:30 but FI threw me a curve ball cuz he needed to go to the eye doctor and get contacts. His appt took longer then expected and I didn't make it out the house until 12:00. I took him to the barber shop and me and the lil one went on our way. I stopped at the florist for rose petals, DSW for some flats to change into, the mall for jewelry (Charming Charlie), FI wedding gift, an Invicta watch, Walmart for the garter all this running around with the 3 year old but he wasn't too bad. I headed home stopping at produce junction first to get some fresh flowers to hang on the chairs coming down the aisle. I was surprised to see 3 bags of colorful rose petals for....... $1 each!!!!! I picked those things up so fast (I went to order my rose paetals online they were like $100 but they weren't gonna arrive on time so I had to take that as a lost. I was so hype when I came accross these 3 bags you don't even understand lol. I purchased the petals and 5 large boquets of roses my total was $20. I was feeling like I just won the lottery. Went home it was about 5:30 and I still needed to get my nails done and FI was MIA. I refused to take him into the nail salon without someone keeping an eye on him but FI was on the other side of town. A friend came by around 6 we talked and I showed her what I was doing with the roses and she said you know what you don't need to worry about this I'll take them and have them ready for you by tomorrow. I was so happy. Time was ticking and I still needed to get to the nail salon. She offered to look after the little one so we left first salon come back Monday we're closing, second salon sorry we're closing, 3rd salon locked and dark, 4th salon same thing 5th salon she said I'll go in this time. She goes in and comes out they said NO too. I'm still not worried though. We're about to pull off and the owner comes out you can come in one of the girls offered to stay. Yay thank you God! I got a gel manicure, eyebrows arched and pedicure and she paid! We leave she drops me back off at home. I didn't get to sleep til around 1 something doing some lil things around the house. I didn't sleep that well I kept having nightmares about something going wrong with my dress.
Wedding day Sun. 4/14
I got up around 6 showered and waited for my friend to pick me up. she showed me what she did to the roses and they came out really nicely. We made it to the hotel by 7:30 only my suite was ready and not the bedroom attached so they let me in the suite. I got settled in and enjoyed the quiet as I knew this would be my only peaceful time all day. friend left to get stylist and arrived back a little after 9. Stylist went right to work. Mom and lil sis also a BM showed up around 10 i went down to help them bring bags in and what do I do. STEP ON MY DRESS! My mom took it away from me (I'll see the damage later). I open the bag with the veil in it and it's folded, wth, my mom didn't realize. Lady in waiting arrives around 11. her and my mom try steaming out my veil but it wasn't working my lil sis was in the shower so they hung it in there and wrinkles came right out. My mom and lady in waiting go to check on the ceremony space to set it up, not ready, reception space, not ready its like 1pm. there was a lot of back and forth and coordinator was MIA. The people setting up the ceremony promised they would take the stuff and set it up, cool. in the reception space they only needed to put the sashes on the chairs. Mom and lady in waiting come back up to let me know what's going on and they begin getting themselves ready. they go back down to reception space and they weren't putting chair covers on big argument they relay the message to me I'm hella mad and my dam BM's are late I start shaking it was crazy. They go back down and coordinator promises they'll do the best they can. I'm still pissed BM's are holding me up cuz I can't get dressed without them (pictures) soon as one was ready I used her and friend helped me get my dress on. that's when I see a nice size black mark on the frontof my dress (my damage from earlier) they wiped it off and all was well. MOH arrives with FG hair not done and she's trying to put curls in her hair I'm like no leave ya hair alone BM hooks FG up in like 10 min MOH was like omg I've been trying all day we all laugh cuz she half korean she don't know about doing hair lol. We're late ceremony was to begin at 3 it's like 3:10 these mofo's still getting ready!!!! I calmed down after Lady in waiting updated me on ceremony space she said they simply didn't have the chair covers but they put my sashes on and she promised it was still nice. About 3:30 we head down to begin. everything went by super fast after that. I didn't cry going down the aisle it was nice and intimate. everyone told me the lil one rolled his eyes all the way down the aisle and ran to daddy once he saw him lol. Pics went ok I thought we would have time for a lot more shots but o well. reception- dj cut our song for our first dance which pissed me and hubby off and everyone noticed our faces especially mine lol. N the DJ sucked too we made the best of it but I would not reccomend him. I'll leave yall with 1 pic more will come I promise
