when the Mr. ran the business, there was one client who would come out in negligees, on days when he was there when her kids weren't home, to water the plants on the porch.

Extra awkward because the ex-husband was ALSO a client (and he was the one who wrote both checks)

It was oddly hilarious to me.

I doubt it. FI is a great guy, but not what you would consider traditionally good looking.

i've told this story before:

when i was in college, college bf had a girl who was craaaazy about him.  when i was helping him pack his room at the end of the year, i found a letter she had written to him.  hellz yeah i read it.  it was all about how much she liked him and how special he made her feel and how she was going to kiss him this one time but she didn't want her first kiss to be stolen.  i felt bad when i read that part and i never mentioned it to bf.

(in the letter, she talked about this one time when they had dinner together ... and i guess she forgot about the part where i was there, it was a dorm cafeteria, we were almost done and about to leave together when she plopped her tray down next to him while i was waiting for him to finish his cookie.)

i would laugh, but she didn't finish the year because she had a mental breakdown and went back home to be hospitalized.  so yeah.
