Wedding Woes

Friday!

I kept thinking yesterday was Friday so thank goodness it's here. What's up for the weekend?

Last night FIL and sMIL and a nephew and cousin's son brought us "new to us" patio furniture and a shed.  FIL took the broken drawer that DH hasn't fixed in a month and promised it's return on Sunday.

Sunday we have M2's party so this morning I finished her decorations and started a little food prep.  We need to do a grocery run this am.  Tomorrow is party prep and 6let has his first school birthday party.  It's at a soccer place and DH is taking him.  It could be an interesting 1.5 hrs.  Sunday is PARTY!  I don't know if there will be 16 or 25 so that's fun to plan.

Re: Friday!

  • Watching the Hobbit tonight w/friends for a birthday, running/walking my first 5K tomorrow and then probably nothing else.
  • The kiddo comes back tonight.  YAY!  :)  He's been missed.  We're going to have dinner at MIL and FIL's and pick him up.

We really don't have any plans for th rest of the weekend.  DH works Sunday and he's going to the shooting range with our neighbor.  I may meet up with a friend and her girls for an afternoon at the park or something.

I'm on the hunt for shorts and I have some ON Super Cash, so I may try and make a trip there.  I also need to pick up a christening gift for my friend's baby.
  • I'm so excited for a nice-weather weekend.  It's supposed to rain a bit tomorrow, but I hope it holds off.

Son has a practice game tonight and tomorrow afternoon so we'll be at the ballpark quite a bit this weekend.  It will be nice for all of us to finally get out of the house.  This winter was way too long and we are not a "stay in the house" kind of family.  We NEED this outside time.  :)
  • Tonight I'll attack the pile of laundry that has been building.

Tomorrow my mom, H and I are heading to the Macy's Spring Flower Show.  The pictures look amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.  Will probably bump up my allergy meds before we go.  Afterwards we need to run some errands and go to the Costco open house for my company.

Sunday we'll do church and then H works.  I'll have to do some work in the bedroom and office.  We have a new mattress coming and are upgrading to a king so somethings need to be rearranged to make room.  The office desk is a mess and will need to be organized and cleaned so it's ready for the old computer to go and a new one to take it's place.

  • V-you know I saw that (5K) and I cheered a little!  Good luck!

My weekend will be mostly quiet.  I need to get some good miles in tomorrow morning, I'm kind of excited.  Then I have a 10am breakfast with a friend.  A friend that uses me to vent, and I take what I can get at this point.  It's always been this way.  She has "fun" friend, and then I'm the good friend who lets her vent, makes her laugh and then she's on her merry way.  Ha.  I hope to get some good cleaning in this weekend.

H works tomorrow, so that will mean I can wait until about an hour before he comes home and then rush around cleaning.  ;)

    Sunday will be more quiet.

Thanks, O-face.  I'm really hoping that it inspires me to actually want to run for fun again.  Right now, I'm in a total slump and stopped running, so this is definitely a run/walk.  But this one isn't even timed (the most fun run, y'know!) and I have a team, so I'm looking forward to it.

ETA:  I bought a second pair of my minimal heel Saucony's.  I had switched to my other regular sneakers for Friday at work and kept falling over my feet b/c of the difference in heel height.  So, I have an every day pair and a running pair now.  :)
  • I'm with you on the shoes, I have mad love for my minimal shoes.  I am holding back on buying another pair until I feel like I'm further into this pair.  I have my 2nd pair of shoes and they're stability, so I feel like I get the best of both worlds.

  • Nothing exceptional.  Wedding to go to on Sat. midday.  Sat evening and sunday is going to be a mad scramble to get the house cleaned, yard tidied up, and work caught up on for me :(  May end up taking a day off next week to get some of that stuff done.  In peace.

Dharma-DO IT.  I had Mon-Tue off this week and I got so.much.done.  I took DefConn to the sitter both days and the kiddo's been on vacation in FL with MIL.

And it was so stress free because I just did things at my own pace and got everything done I wanted to, for the most part.  I was going to tackle the kiddo's room, especially his drawers.  But I've decided that is a project for DH and the kiddo.  I've done more than my fair share of getting stuff in shape around here.  :)
  • Yeah, I'm thinking that "maybe" might be closer to a definite ;).  At least Wednesday, maybe Thursday as well.  With deadlines approaching fast at work, I may volunteer to check in on occasion just to keep on top of a few items.  But I can maybe just leave it an an hour or two a day.  Whenever I get around to it ;)

  • It better involve lots of sleep. That's all I want. DS was up a few times to potty in the night, which was good but man I'm dragging. I need to make a Costco run and I also, have ON Super Cash. Not sure what I will use it on- maybe some baby clothes or something. DH needs to finish our taxes and do yard work.

i think i want to start an indoor garden, hopefully i'll have time this weekend.
  • Tonight: Bad Religion concert and dinner w/ friends for DH's birthday

Tomorrow: shopping w/ my mom to pick out baby quilt fabric, Costco, and Trader Joe's, then catching up on some TV

Sunday: hopefully not much of anything

I have to fix my state return because it was rejected.  Lame.  They can keep the whopping $40 for all I care.  I'm just going to give it back to them (and then some) anyway for my license plate sticker next month.

  • I need to finish our taxes too.  We owe federal taxes this year.  I've been dragging my feet about filing. I need to get on that.

And I just renewed our plates this week and I felt like I needed a small loan to cover the cost.  If we didn't have a decent excise tax cut on plates the cost would be over $200 more, per car.
  • Housecleaning. The whole thing. With Holy Week and my other job and being sick, it just got gross.

Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a "new" Wii. Ours has been shutting down, and a friend had one for sale with a Wii Fit Board and 6 games for $100, so we jumped on it.

And I only have to sing one Mass this weekend, which feels so weird. I didn't even have rehearsal yesterday.

  • I may go spend my ON super cash tonight, and stop in at Target to check out their Easter clearance.   Other than that I have no plans.   If tomorrow is as nice as they say it's going to be (65 and partly sunny) I was thinking of taking DD to a local park and taking photos of her.  We'll see how cooperative she is and if she'll do a wardrobe change, too.  It's been a while since we've done that.
  • I also have to get my emissions tested.  My car's officially old enough that they make me get it tested every year now. The best part of living in southern IL meant we didn't have to do emission testing because we were too far from major metro areas that had testing areas.

I still need to file our BFE taxes.  I haven't worked in 3 years and still need to send them junk.  I make DH do his own for that.
  • This afternoon, A and I are picking mom up from the airport. Laundry.

Tomorrow, hopefully feeling a lot better and maybe hitting a local food and craft festival.

    Sunday, no plans.
