Grandfather / Granddaughter dance

Hello everyone. At our reception I am having both a father / daughter dance and grandfather / granddaughter dance. My grandfather raised me for the first 7 years of my life. I was originally thinking Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. Recently my grandfather has been having some health issues and I'm afraid that song may be too long for him to dance to as it's a 5 minute some song. Any one have any other ideas for songs I could use that are not overdone or cheesy??

  • We combined our groom/mother and bride/father dance and we danced to "Memories" by Elvis Presley. It's a song that older guests will know, and we loved it. There is a youtube video if you never heard it.

Why not ask your grandfather some of his favorite songs and choose one together?

FWIW, you don't have to dance until the absolute last note of the song. You can tell your DJ to just fade the song out if you and grandpa stop dancing. No big deal. Just let grandpa know it's okay to stop whenever he needs to.
  • Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate it
