Renting vs Purchasing Linen in Oahu

So I've spoken to a few linen decor companies, some reasonably priced and some pricey. My question is would it be better to rent or buy?As far as the reasonably priced rental companies, it still seems triple the price rather than purchasing.  But then again I understand it'll be a hassle considering shipping, dry cleaning cost, set up and take down.

-Has anyone dealt with purchasing linen online in Oahu? Recommendations? Reliable Sites?
-Anyone dealt with renting in Oahu? Recommendations? Tips?

Re: Renting vs Purchasing Linen in Oahu

  • She was actually our first choice... their prices are very reasonable. But her linens are limited.

We've also spoken to Naomi from Les Saison and we absolutely loved her. It's just too bad she is so pricey. Plus she knows all our vendors.

Another company whose style  was similar to Les Saison that we like is Itsoprettylinen. Were going to try to price it out. I just wonder if its more feasible to rent or buy. Runners online are $3 each.
  • I was actually looking at Eliana events too, but I found another who matches Eliana.
It's Savannah's Chair Covers and Sash Rentals. I haven't met with the company yet to look at their sashes and runners, but they do respond fast to emails. You might want to try them.

If you do buy, you might want to think about the set up time. Who is going to help you put on chair covers and tie sashes, and place runners? Especially if you are at a location that has like a 2 hour set up time limit.
  • We thought about this too, several factors to consider:

    1)  If you're at a hotel, sometimes they need the linen 1-2 prior if they have a previous event

    2)  Linen is heavy so shipping is expensive

    3)  Ensure you have extras in case last minute increase in guest count. My friend only had table runners and fell short because she had late RSVPs.  Since she brought her own, we weren't able to add on an additional piece

    4)  You have to have someone retrieve at the end of the night

    5)  If wrinkled,, you need to iron before set-up

    6)  Chair covers and sashes takes time, definitely would not attempt that on own
