I'm getting married there in Oct 2012.  We are a little ways off but haven't had any problems yet.  If you don't mind me asking....where did you see the bad reviews so I can check it out?  I don't know...it's not cheap but I think for what they are offering it's not too bad...but that's just my opinion.  I really think it beautiful there!

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. I didn't really hear anything horrible about it and Fi and i just really loved it there :)  Exactly what I was looking for.  As far as price, I think it's a little pricey but no more than some other places.  Some of the bonuses ...can bring your own liquior and you can pick your own caterer.  You can also decorate how you want (with some minor restrictions).  Also you get the place for the whole weekend.  Soooo, IDK...IMO I didn't think it was too bad.

I dont think its bad either. Love their website. I just have a strict budget. So it might not work for me. I want an outdoor wedding. Just finding a venue is tough.

I'm having my wedding there this June. The only draw back at this point is that the owner will say she never got your email or phone call, when in reality, there is no way she missed 7 emails from three different addresses and four phone calls. She is very hard to get ahold of, and very non-responsive when you have a question. Before you book she will call you right back, but once she has your deposit there isn't a chance she will spend time getting back to you. I guess she is too busy trying to book more weddings to respond to the people she already has money from.

I can tell you that our 100 person wedding is around $5500 for the weekend. The bonus is the weekend stay and the rehearsal dinner space and being included. If you are looking for something similar but in a lower price range you might want to look up The Hayloft, orBetsy's Barn at Cheeseman Farms. I believe they are a little lower in cost, but you don't get the weekend stay or the freedom in vendor choices.

I will also stress the lack of local hotels for guests to book. Every place to stay is a good distance from the farm(unless they book one of the 6 rooms in the local B&B), so if you have oot guests it might be rough on them.

If you like Armstrong Farms you should consider the Mayernik Center in Avonworth. I booked it for my May wedding.  Its BYOB (huge plus)  and you can have both the wedding and reception there if you choose.  It has that rustic lodge feel and is right off of 279N.   The only downside is that it books up really fast. I met with them in Feb for a May 2012 wedding and  there weren't too many Saturdays in the peak season left. Hope you find what you're looking for!

<div>I just attended a wedding there and the owner was creasming at 14 year old children working in the kitchen just before we were about to receive our meals.  The food was absolutley amazing but the owners were really crazy, I have never seen anything like it.  I actually think he was mentally disturbed.</div>
