Hello fellow brides & brides to be! We just had our wedding this past Saturday & I couldn't wait to give a review for all of our vendors. Everything went better than I could have imagined, so there are not going to be very many negative reviews (only one)
Californos (A+) - We had our ceremony & reception at this venue. The food was amazing, many of our guests commented on how good it was. The space was perfect. Our ceremony was outside on their patio. There are two rooms inside, one with the majority of the guest tables, DJ, & dancefloor. The other room had a few more guest tables & the buffet. It was great for our older guests or guests with babies to get away from all the noise. The workers at Californos were all great to work with. One of our guests told me that they had never been to a wedding with friendlier bartenders.
Three Three Photography (A+) - Ashley was awesome to work with. I have not been able to see any of the wedding photos yet, but she did have a slideshow going at the reception with photos of us getting ready & with the few that I was able to look at, looked amazing. I'm so excited to see them all! She is very easy to work with, very friendly, laid back & professional.
Jolie Artistry (A+) - I wasn't sure if I wanted someone to do my makeup, but I'm so happy I did. Jolie did an amazing job. I don't think I have ever looked better. The makeup lasted all night, even through all the sweaty dancing haha. She is very sweet & easy to work with.
Mission HyVee (B+) - We used the Mission HyVee for our cupcakes. They tasted good, looked good, & were pretty inexpensive. I would definitely recommend them.
ReMix DJ's (A+) - Jon is an awesome DJ. He had all of our wedding guests out on the dance floor. He is not a normal wedding DJ, he reminds me more of a club DJ which is more of our style. It was awesome! He kept the party going & took charge with the reception timeline so it all went smoothly. Very nice guy & easy to work with as well!
Simple to Elegant Weddings (A+) - Rev. Tim Brooks was our officient. I was a little worried because he had two other weddings before ours, but he showed up on time & did a great job. His wife also came & was amazing at organizing our wedding party (because we didn't have a rehearsal, so it was a little chaotic). I know it wouldn't have gone half as smoothly without her!
The Q Hotel & Spa (D) - Ok this was the one downfall in our wedding experience. For the most part the employees of the Hotel were very great to work with. However, we had a problem with our guests calling to book a room in our block & the receptionist telling them we didn't have a block there. I kept having to call & ask why. They told me the receptionist was new... however it kept happening. Then the manager was very rude to one of my bridesmaids when she tried to cancel one of her room reservations. I called to talk to him & he made me cry (I was pretty stressed), but still that was not cool. After that my mom called to talk to him & he was also really mean to my mom. So yes, I am giving them a bad grade for that. We had a few minor problems while we were actually staying there, but for the most part the hotel was nice & had no complaints.
Overall we had a really amazing wedding. Couldn't have asked for it to turn out any better! Good luck on all your planning, hope these reviews help!
