My sis just got married Saturday, and she and her new husband had 22 attendants! After her ceremony and some pics, we planned to take a giant charter limo to Detroit for more pics, but we wanted to stop at a convienience store for food (and alcohol). My brother drove behind the limo (he gets motionsick easily) and then the photographer followed behind him.
The limo parked on the street since it couldn't fit in the TINY parking lot (big enough for 5 cars), and my brother and the photographer parked behind him. A police officer pulled over with lights flashing and ticketed my brother and the photographer for "impeding traffic"!!
My sis and her new husband were asked to get off the limo and were questioned about god knows what for about 5 minutes buy this officer, and when my sis got back on the limo, she was SO FURIOUS.
I called our parents to tell them we would be late arriving to the reception and explained the situation. They thought it was a joke!! My mother and I got into a fight once I arrived!! This should not happen the day of a sibling's wedding!!
So, if you live downriver, either take your business outside the Wyandotte area, or DO NOT use a limo the day of your wedding!! I'm not familiar with this area of Michigan since I live in the Novi area, but most police officers I've come in contact with cut wedding parties/limos a little slack the day of someone's wedding so long as no one is in any harm and they are doing nothing illegal.
