Bridesmaids Dresses

Hi everybody,

I am having the hardest time finding bridesmaids dresses! My dress is all lace and we are going for a vintage-like theme, and the standard places like David's Bridal and Alfredo Angelo don't have anything I like.

I stumbled upon the Dessy line and found a bunch I like. Then I went to see some in store and absolutely fell in love with the After Six 6644:

The dress is gorgeous and I absolutely love it - except for the price tag. It would end up being $180, not including alterations or steaming. 2 of my girls are in college and really do not have the money to spend that much on a bridesmaids dress.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm currently scouring the internet to find something similar. I've found a lot that are all lace, but not many that just have the lacy top.

I'd appreciate any help! Thank you!

  • Try an online boutique to save . I ordered my bridesmaids dressed through weddingshoppeinc.com and lesalonbridal.com and saved a lot. The dresses were all Dessy too

  • That is a beautiful dress! There are many BM dresses over $200 so to me it seems this is in the middle. Would your BMs appreciate it if you chose a cheaper dress? Definitely, but who wouldn't? If you have your heart set on this though, maybe you can help by putting $20 towards each girls' dress to help them out? Most friends would probably pay for it though if that's the one you really wanted, just to make sure they don't have to pay for a lot of other things like shoes, hair, makeup, etc. That said, I'm also gong for the vintage-like look but I chose all Bill Levkoff chiffon dresses in a very light pink. I don't think the dresses need to be lace for them to fit your theme. Try not to over think it, it will be beautiful even with a different dress. Yo can always use your details at the reception to convey the theme :)

  • I think that price is reasonable for bridesmaid dresses. Mine are long satin Bill Levkoff and range from $210-$230. I think what Caitlynmk said about shoes/make up/hair is a good compromise. Since my girls are paying so much for their dresses, I said they could wear any silver shoes they wanted and I'm paying for their hair.
  • Hi everybody,

Thanks for your suggestions! David's Bridal saved the day. I got an email a few days ago with new arrivals and picked a dress! http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Lace-Cap-Sleeve-Dress-with-Side-Ruffles-XS3393
