I want to have a brief ceremony so were were having something without anyone reading anything, just several comments by the officiant. However, we decided we would like something more personal, something meaningful to us but simple.
In the interest of adding two readings but keeping it short we want to remove the signing of the papers. (we would do it in the bridal suite before the wedding while people were still arriving, we are doing pictures first as well, or after the ceremony also in the bridal suite, the officiant said either was fine)
This would allow us to get that parts we want but eliminate the part where everyone just watches you sign some papers.
Would anyone mind missing the signing of those papers? It's my least favourite part of the ceremony so I wouldn't care but I am not sure if anyone else does.
It doesn't eliminate a lot of time but every bit counts. I should also mention, I don't really like the thought of being up there for very long. When people are reading the attention is on the reader but when signing everyone will be watching me and I really don't like the thought of that. (I am still bracing myself for the whole walk down the aisle)
