Harrah’s: B – The check-in desk was incredibly under staffed when we checked in Saturday night around 10:45. There was one single girl checking people in. We were put into a room with 2 queen beds and when I asked why I was told room specifications are not guaranteed. I asked about switching the next day into a king room and they set it up. We ended up just staying put because we were pretty close to the other couples that came with us. The first morning we had absolutely no hot water; our friends on two other floors in the same tower were without also. I asked about it at the desk and they said they were working on it. Within the hour we had hot water and could shower. If we had paid any more than we had I would have been disappointed, but for less than $300 total for 5 nights I can’t really complain. This casino was probably one of the smokier ones we were in so I didn’t really care for that and probably wouldn’t stay there again.
Debi @ Fit for a Bride: A+ – This woman and business are raved about for a reason. We shipped out things out about two weeks in advance and she received them on time and intact no problem. I was notified that they had gotten them right away and exchanged a few emails with her and Donna setting up a pick up time (another perk of renting a car). The studio isn’t far from the strip at all but I naturally got us lost. J is an impeccable driver/navigator and since it was the day I was becoming a Dempsey I tried to wing it and messed up bad. The studio is super cute and Debi is a total sweetheart and I hope more of you ladies get to meet her in person. Everything was flawless and I even inquired about cleaning which she does and ships the stuff home for $150.
Hair & Makeup… were FREE. I did my own makeup and my girlfriend Michelle did my hair. Saved a ton of money and having so much time free in the morning was great.
The Art of Shaving: F- – The guys all got haircuts and straight razor shaves the morning of the wedding. J was really excited about this and it was such a letdown. The guy said he had been doing it for 37 years but not one of the three boys was impressed. $60 later and all three of them had to re-shave before the wedding. Waste of time and money.
Chapel of the Flowers: A – After driving around seeing other chapels on the strip you can tell right away that you get what you pay for. The entire experience with COF was easy and exactly what I wanted. My planner was Courtney and should really be canonized as a saint because I spent many hours up this girl’s butt via email. My bouquet was beautiful and I had simply picked one off of the floral page. Our coordinator was Jantell and she was adorable and super bubbly, just the kind of person you want around you on your wedding day. Roger was our minister and he was great. Our photographers were Vanessa and Joe, and I’m so obsessed with the pictures. The limo driver was Tom and he was on time and friendly. I’d get married there a hundred times over because it was perfect and they made it so easy. We had a photo appointment the next day and dealt primarily with Kelly. I know the copyright package is pricey but if you can fit it in your budget absolutely do it. If the photography wasn’t amazing I’d be the first person to tell you not to do it because I nickel and dimed this entire wedding. I know that if I had gone to that appointment and could only have taken home X amount of pictures I would have been in tears. I took a survey at the end and got myself a free mouse pad with mine and my husband’s face on it. I could probably sit here and rave about this place all day but in summation it was perfect.
