Wedding Invitations & Paper

Cardstock and A7 Envelopes

My invitations have been designed and now it's time to purchase paper & envelopes. Any suggestions? I plan to use both white cardstock and envelopes. Where did you purchase yours?

Re: Cardstock and A7 Envelopes

  •  We also designed our invites, r.s.v.ps and save-the-date's! We went through a company called Vista Print. (vistaprint.com). They were great, fast, affordable, and everything turned out the way we wanted! You can choose from different styles & shapes of cardstock, and basically go from there with how you want to design everything! I would definitely recommend them! We will likely be designing our wedding 'thank-you' cards with Vista Print as well. :)

Good luck with your search! :)
  • There's a website called cardsandpockets.com.  I love them.  You can also upload your design and they can print it for you for a fee or you can just order the products and DIY.

  • I also went through cards and pockets.  I was very happy with the quality and price!
  • We printed our invites through Cards and Pockets as well. We bought the envelopes at Paper Presentation which has an online store.

  • We are working on this concept in the next week or two.  I'm very DIY and have done professional graphic design, but don't have all the bells and whistles (Adobe Photoshop & Pagemaker etc.) on my home computer. My current job is not a computer design job (I do floral design now)....so, what we're doing is a mix of DIY and professional.

The STD and postage are on www.zazzle.com. You can use them but they don't do raised text, just flat print.  Our STD is a postcard with a 'Old Bay Seasoning' design, because we're getting married in Baltimore.   The stamps also have the OBS can.  Our invitation stamps are a mixture of ocean-themed/sea creatures, because I love the look of colorful mixed up stamps on invitations.  It was a lot of fun designing these stamps, and you know you can upload whatever image you want, so you could customize stamps for your wedding with a photo of you and your fiance, your flowers, your venue, your wedding location, etc.

We're probably going to order colored envelopes and liners, as well as an address embosser from www.papersource.com, and sheets of large thai handmade metallic paper insead of basic tissue.  This I'm going to cut on a papercutter.  My thinking is, colored envelopes, embossing, and a luxury tissue liner can really 'amp up' mid-priced non-letterpressed stationery. So, if you go flatprint, or whatever, that's a great way to get more bang.  I looked at cards and pockets, but I feel papersource has a more interesting range of patterned paper choices, for envelope liners.  Plus, I already bought papersource "lake" colored folding placecards.

We're probably going to order the actual invite and matching RSVP and Guest Information inserts (but not envelopes) from David's Bridal stationery.  This vendor seems to have the best assortment of designs and fonts for a reasonable price.

I LOVELOVELOVE bella figura stationery with their very deep, precise, lush, well-designed letterpress, but it's not in our budget.

So um. Yes, three different stationery vendors.  Yep.

  • I DIY'd my invites. I got my card stock at Michaels and my A7 envelopes at Hobby Lobby.
  • Thanks everyone, I've been looking at cards and pockets for a while now and I just wanted to see if anyone has had luck in beating their prices.
