I didn't think I would be so confused doing our invitations.  There is a verse I want to put in our invitations and of course I will be doing the quotation marks.  What I don't know if what about the author?  I know this may seem like a stupid questions but I am having a blank moment here.

    I didn't bother putting the author's name on the quotes for my invites. Didn't seem necessary to me

    I'm not sure what the verse is, but it might be better suited to the program.  I'm a fan of traditional, to-the-point wording on invitations.  I think that when extra things are added, invitations look cluttered and can sometimes be unclear.  If you do want to include it, I would put the author.
