Destination - time between Save the Date and invitations

Hello Knotties,
We are so excited to be having a destination wedding this coming October.  We know that planning for destination weddings can be tricky, so we sent our Save the Dates out a couple of weeks ago. We put most of the details on our wedding website, and put the website on the Save the Date... so... now I'm curious what the rule should be for when we send out our invitations, which, if our guests took the time to look at the website, will basically have no new information.  I know some of you may say I don't need to send invites at this point, but I already have them and they're cute and personal, so not sending them is not really an option.  Do I wait a month?  2 months?
Thoughts??
Thanks!
Ali

Invitations are sent 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding for a non-DW. I would venture that you could send them a little earlier for a DW and not get a side-eye.

No, no one would say that. You always need to send formal invitations.

Send them 6-8 weeks before your wedding. Given that yours is in October, you would be sending invitations no earlier than August. It doesn't matter if it's a destination wedding or not.
  • I think the only reason some people suggest sending invitations earlier for a DW is, if you had not sent STDs, guests may need ample time to book flights and/or hotel rooms. Since you sent STDs with all that info, I don't think invites need to go out any sooner than normal, so 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding.

</div><div>Invitations are always required.  Many people probably will never look at your website.  Send the invites 8-10 weeks before the wedding.
