Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wording?

I posted this in the MIlitary section, but would also like tao ask others here.

My daughter and her fiance are both in the Navy and at least one of them is looking at a deployment before the year is out. Due to this, neither of them want or need household gifts. They have had a photo taken with them holding a ditty bag (a small bag( together and would like wording to the effect of "gifts need to fit in this bag please".

Anyoen have any ideas as to how to word this and not be offensive as they have a very valid reason for asking this.

Thank you!

[QUOTE]Sending ANYTHING about gifts with an invitation is completely rude.  You could put this in your daughter's wedding website, but not in the invitation.  They could also register for small items.  If anyone asks you, you can spread this by word of mouth.

There is no way to word this in a non-offensive manner.  Asking for cash (no matter how cutesy you make it) is RUDE and TACKY.

If I received this "ditty bag" pic, I would hardcore roll my eyes, toss it in the trash and definitely would not be attending.
