Need help with invitation wording! Ahh!!

Hi ladies!  My fiance and I are having our ceremony & reception at our family's (3rd) home and I am struggling with the wording for the location.  Initially I had stated "Family Farm", but certain guests took "farm" the wrong way and I think were assuming there would be barn animals present (LOL people never fail to amaze me).  I changed it to "Family Homestead" but I still don't think that sounds right. 

To sum it up, the property is about 15 acres large with several barns and 1 home on the land.  It's tucked back in the country and the ceremony/reception will take place on top of the hill that overlooks farm land & woods.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should title this location?!  Helpppppp

I think residence, farm, ranch, or estate are your only options.

Of course, you'll be putting the address of the property on the invitations, so it should be a non-issue in terms of guests thinking it's one of the other two homes.

I'm in the same boat - our ceremony and reception will take place at my parents' home, which is pretty much a "farm" (8 acres, a barn and springhouse), but it's not technically a working farm, ie no barn animals either! On my invites, I just said "...invite you to celebrate at their wedding...at the home of John and Jane Doe." (So no need to say it's a farm or homestead or anything.) Then, on the enclosure card with the directions, I put "The ceremony will take place on a hill overlooking the house" so that people know the setting and also perhaps to wear more sensible shoes. It's up to you, but I don't think you need to offer a description of the setting, just say "the home of..."

ETA: I see this is your family's 3rd home, but if you put the address right underneath, it will avoid any confusion about it being at the other 2 homes, as PP just said.

I think I may just go with "Family Residence" and then list the address below.  Do you think that would do the job?

I like that idea but the only problem is that no one lives there permanently, so it may be confusing to list "the home of...".  It's more of a summer/vacation house.  The property was owned years ago by their great grandparents (who did live on the property) but at this point the family just uses the land for hunting, fishing and hanging out.  Which do you think sounds better........ "Family Residence" or "Family Home" or "Family Property" ?

Hmm, I totally get your point (especially since no one lives there permanently). I would go with either "Family Home" or "Family Property" -- residence sounds a bit clinical to me. Either one would be fine and I think conveys the fact that it is more a summer/vacation house. Good luck!
