Creating Our Own Wedding Stationary??? Help!!!!

Okay, this is my first time posting anything on the knot, but I am getting frustrated and need some opinions. My fiance and I are getting married on October 5, 2014 and we have a fabulous wedding venue. I love the 1920s-1930s, and our venue was built during that time and is a tudor/craftsman style building. Dark wood beams and floors, two floor to ceiling fireplaces, gorgeous! Anyways, we were browsing around for invitation stationary just to get some ideas for the overall theme and appearence for our wedding, and we realized we cannot find any art deco/art nouveau styled ones or ones we even like for that matter. I am an artist with all tools and resources available, and I was wondering if I should create our wedding stationary. Have any of you made your own invites before? I need some feed back and suggestions. Thank you!!!

</div><div>We bought ours.  But we just wanted something classy and elegant.....we weren't trying to fit a theme.  I'm not a DIY person either.  :D

  • H designed all our paper goods from scratch. He used Illustrator and a lot of hand drawn fonts. We had Cards and Pockets print our invitation suite and I highly recommend them. Great paper quality and very reasonably priced.

  • First, just FYI it's 'stationEry.'

I also love art nouveau and art deco design.  GMTA. (I'm also an artist) and our venues sound very, very similiar.

    Anyway,

David's Bridal Invitations has 3 or 4 art deco designs.  One is also with metallic elements, and is likely what we will go with.  It can be ordered thermapress, and I believe also letterpress (not 100% sure about letterpress, I have been looking at half a dozen stationery options myself recently and they all blur together.)

I also was looking into Bella Figura, which has BEAUTIFUL stuff but way way $$$$.

Least expensive I have found (but still pretty) - you can do DIY flat print on www.zazzle.com, which has at least 10 art deco versions.
  • lol... I know it is stationEry. I posted this on a tablet and for some reason auto correct kept changing the "e" to "a". Anyways, thank you so much for your suggestions. I am going to check out some websites now. I appreciate it!
