Program Wording Help

Im creating my own programs for the reception and need a little help with the wording.  My parents are divorced and both have remarried (my mother has 2x so I have 2 stepfathers) I am not very close with my biological father and will be having my stepfather (#1) walk me down the aisle. Most programs I see show the parents of the bride/groom but I dont know how to word mine without offending anybody....help!!

Re: Program Wording Help

  • I have this problem all the time. My father has been married 3 times since he and my mother divorced, and I always think of and refer to the 1st one as my stepmother b/c she raised me even though she isn't anymore.

I'm not sure about the programs....maybe call him "friend of the bride"?  I know he's more to you than that, but it's all I can think of.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Could you just say "Parents of the Bride" and then list their names, rather than stating exactly who each person is? This is what we did for H's family in the programs.  However, H does consider his step-dad to be a parent, so he was fine with this wording.  If you don't really consider one of the step-dads to be a parent, this might not work for you, but it is a way to simplify everything.
