Addressing Invitations

Is it appropriate to put "The Smith Family" on the outer envelope and list the names on the inner envelope?
Do you omit "and Guest" on the outer, but write on inner?
Do 18 year olds who live at home get a separate invitation?
Are you including directions to your church and/or reception? If so, where are they placed within the envelope?
Anyone handwriting their own? Any tips?
Thanks everyone!

[QUOTE]Is it appropriate to put "The Smith Family" on the outer envelope and list the names on the inner envelope?
Sure. My personal preference is to write "Mr and Mrs Steven Smith" on the outer, and include the childrens' names on the inner
Do you omit "and Guest" on the outer, but write on inner?
Yep.
Do 18 year olds who live at home get a separate invitation?
Heck yes. And they should be invited with their SO if they are dating someone
Are you including directions to your church and/or reception?
No. People have Google, GPS, and/or Smartphones. Unless your city is particularly complicated, you can skip it.
If so, where are they placed within the envelope?
N/A
Anyone handwriting their own? Any tips?
I hand addressed all of ours. It's important to get yourself a nice pen and take your time. I did only 10-15 invites a night so I didn't get sloppy with my handwriting.
Thanks everyone!
