Tipping the hairstylist

One of my fiance's close friend's wife, whom I became good friends with is a hairstylist. I asked if she wanted to be the hairstylist for me and bridesmaid ($50/per person because we are friends, otherwise she charges 60-$80 per person and travelling). She said because we are good friends, she will be doing my hair as a wedding gift for free.
To show my appreciation, I want to get her a gift that but in a different color that my bridesmaids are receiving. My fiance, who doesn't know much about women and their purses and shoes, thinks that the idea is unneccessary because she is charging me $0 as a gift for the wedding. I feel that I want to give her a gift even though I'm not paying for my hair done or giving her a tip. The gift is like a tip, but a reminder of her being a part of our wedding. Also, her hubby is one of the groomsmen. My question is, am I wrong for wanting to get her a gift that shows my appreciation for her being a part of our wedding (making our hair look beautiful for the event)?

Another question, I have 5 bridesmaids and a few are getting their hair done by her, is it necessary for me to tell them that the $50 does not include gratuity or are they grown up enough to know that? (ages 30s)

    I can see both sides of it. on one hand, if it is a gift from her and if you try to repay it by giving a gift or something, then she might feel like you didn't understand that it was supposed to be your wedding gift and she might feel bad if she didn't get you anything else. I understand wanting to show your appreciation though, maybe a nice card would suffice. As for your bridesmaids, I would assume that they understand gratuity is not included. It usually isn't at hair salons, so I doubt they would think it would all of a sudden be included in this price. I suppose if your BMs have a habit of not tipping though you might want to mention it subtly ;
