Re: xp in invites

  • Either; ceremony at six o'clock, or just six o'clock. There's really no need to write "in the evening" because no one will mistake you for six in the morning.

For June 29th wedding, responses are due no later then June 8th (3 weeks out). You may also request them a little earlier and go with May 31st /June 1st (4 weeks out).

  • its a preference aspect, but with ours we used 6 o clock in the evening since it is more formal.  Usually the ceremony time is the actual invitation so you do not need to say ceremony is at... The announcement of the marriage between you and FI on this date at this time at this location is how it is usually written.  and then the  Reception can have its own card if it is at a different location, otherwise you can say reception to immediatley follow or something like that.

as for rsvp, check with your caterer to see when they need a head count.  Ours needed a projected head count one month prior but we do not need to give a final head count until 5 days prior.  Our June 7th wedding has a May 7th rsvp and then we can track down late rsvps so we have the final head count in time.  I also need to order my escort cards 3 weeks in advance so stuck with the 4 week deadline.

  • Six o'clock, according to invite etiquette, is evening. So you'd be correct to write "Six o'clock in the evening".

When is your final head count due to your venue & caterer? Figure out when that date is, then work backward from that, giving yourself a cushion to track down people who don't respond. Our wedding is June 22nd and our final head count is due June 5th. Our RSVP date is May 22nd, to account for people mailing them out on the 22nd, and any mail delays due to the Memorial Day holiday. That will give us about a week and a half to track down any stragglers.
