HELP! Random ads in the text of my wedding website?!

I built our wedding website through The Knot.  The URL is ournames.ourwedding.com.  Everything looks fine to me--I've checked in all browsers.

My aunt just called saying that there are random links to ads on the page.  For instance, the body copy of our homepage says: On these pages you'll find details about our wedding weekend, such as maps, hotels, and parking information.

I didn't add any links in that sentence, but she is getting links on the word "hotel" which sends her to a random site with ads.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do I fix it?  We just mailed our STDs this week, so this is making me panic!

Re: HELP! Random ads in the text of my wedding website?!

  • Hey liz,

It's not advertisements.  That is default text that TK puts on all the pages so they don't sit there blank.  I dont think any of the words should be links, that sounds like it's due to her browser and not TK.

What you can do is go into the wedding website editing page (use the link at the top of TK homepage) and then make all pages you havent yet finished invisible to others.  If it's still a problem, PM me your wedding website and I will look at it and see if I can help,
