Hi All - 

I'm getting married... for the 2nd time ...  and I want photojournalistic pictures again.  My first photographer was PHENOMENAL but I've gotten a very bad reveiw from a friend who hired him on my referral ::sigh::   

I'm back to square 1 ...  My requirements are that I don't want a million pics, I want just a few, and i dont want to spend $3000 again ...  

Recommendations? Please & thank you

we're going with R. Frank Photography from Erie, PA. even with his travel expenses, he is cheaper than expensive Pittsburgh photographers! and his stuff is impressive!!! our wedding is in July so can't give a review yet!

I would definitely recommend Caitlin Thomas Photography if you're looking for a photojournalistic style, Caitlin is SO talented. She and her hubby shot our wedding in March and the photos are absolutely amazing, she captured so many moments that went by so quickly or that we didn't see at the time. We told her we needed a little direction and she helped us pose for some shots while still making it look natural. Also her pricing is very good compared to a lot of the photographers we looked at in the Pittsburgh area.

Has anyone used The Standard? Their prices are cheap so I wanted to see if anyone has actually used them. Thanks!

I'd rather go with a personal professional photographer rather than a "group or event" photographer.  That's like  hiring Target Portraits to photograph your wedding...imo.

Go with James Campbell! He has a great photojournalistic eye! campbelljamesphoto.com. We also looked at ashleymitchellimages.com but felt James was MUCH easier to work with. They both have pretty good pricing though. You should be able to work out a very good price with James. I can give a better review in two weeks as we are going for engagement shots then...

I booked Heather Martin ...  my friend has used her for all of her pregnancy & baby pictures.  I also have another friend who used her for pictures - she's reasonable & SUPER TALENTED.   Since I've seen alot of her work & 2 friends recommended her ... I booked her.  Good luck with your engagement pix !!!!
