How was your weekend?

How was your weekend?  Anything exciting or good?  Mine was good I am just really tired.

Friday after work I went to visit a wedding venue, it was really my first one, outside of going to a bridal show.  I loved it. FI wasn't able to go he was still stuck with the plumber who was installing our dishwasher.  So I want to bring him back to see it.  I feel like I should check out at least one or two more this week, before we commit. The place has me really excited though, it's a country club.

Saturday was moving day, we were up really early, it was a very long exhausting day.  The movers were great and made everything so easy for us.  The cats are adjusting, one cat isn't taking it too well and keep meowing and crying most of the night.  We did quite a bit of unpacking on Saturday.  Saturday night FI came down with a stomach bug, so between him being sick and crying cats not much sleep was had this weekend.

Yesterday I had my friend's bridal shower and then rehearsal.  Since FI was still sick not much got done around the house, so our kitchen isn't even unpacked yet.  I love being at the house so much though.  I just can't wait until there are no more boxes and we are settled a bit more too. Sorry that was real long.....

Re: How was your weekend?

  • My weekend was pretty good, all things considered. Mostly it was quiet, but my big accomplishment was reclaiming my utility room. I can get to my chest freezer without it requiring an act of Congress! My letter sorter is hanging up! I hung up a calendar! (Yes, I am aware it is May and I am just getting to this ...)

Danser, I hope you can get some extra rest this week - crying kitties and sick SO's are no fun.
  • Saturday we ran some errands and started attacking the mess that is our basement. I got a new laundry cart that has made me irrationally happy. It makes such a huge difference!

Sunday, I ran my fifth half marathon. Then I ate greasy food and laid in bed and watched LOTS of tv. We finished off the day with a walk to the park with Toby and played some dominoes. Perfect day!

Tonight, my aunt that lives in Rhode Island is going to be staying with us. I'm excited to spend some time with her and show off our house/town.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • Danser- That's so exciting that you loved your first venue visit! I bet it was beautiful! I hope your FI gets well soon, stomach bugs are the worst.

This weekend was pretty low key finally. Friday night FI and I changed plans with Saturday and had dinner with his stepmom and Dad. She made peach martinis and they were sooo yummy!

Saturday I went shopping with my mom in the monsoon all day long. While swimming through the rain we managed to find my wedding shoes YAY!!! They are a dark navy peeptoe and they have a mini heel on them with rhinestones on the front tip of the shoes. I didn't expect to find them so easily but they are comfortable and pretty! I would show pics but they are at home so that will be later on this week. That night we watched that Silver Lining movie which was really good! I loved it! I also made Skillet Lasagna which was supposed to be a WW recipe but I added more cheese....oops.

Sunday was nice and relaxing. FI won his tennis match and we just chilled at home the rest of the day. It was nice not to have anything to do.

[QUOTE]My weekend was insanely busy. I had 7 dog walks on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. Between dog walks Saturday I did C25K W4D3 and did a new personal best for outdoor hill training during this program (38:41 5k, which is still horrible, but with this program there are periods of walking, so that time will come down a lot when I am running the whole time). But doing that on a day that I also spent, cumulatively, 2 hours and 20 minutes walking dogs, was rough on the body. Yesterday after dog walks B and I went to my parents' in NH for dinner and to drop off all my pets because I'm leaving for Nashville tomorrow for work.  In sum: I'm freaking exhausted and I never rested at all and now I'm back to work.

That is NOT horrible! You should be proud of yourself! You know that time will go down, but it's also a great start!

  • My weekend was pretty good. Friday night I treated myself to a pedicure and eyebrow wax. Still haven't signed up for tanning for vacation, I keep procrastinating!!!! BF ordered Chinese food and I had the best steamed dumplings ever. Usually they're really doughy from other places, but this place makes theirs with a thinner dough, it was so good.

Saturday I was so busy. I had an eye doctor's appointment (again!), then I had to go to the mall to return a dress that was not going to work for vacation. I went to Macy's to pick up some cologne that BF has been debating whether to buy (it smells so good on him, I just made the choice for him lol). Did the grocery shopping which was a lot faster doing it alone. Got home, put the groceries away, had some lunch, mowed the lawn, did laundry made ST potato salad and cleaned the house. BF got home from work, cooked steaks and corn on the cob on the grill then we just hung around doing nothing.

Sunday BF had a "date" planned. We used to on every Sunday go get Mexican food, margaritas and then go play mini golf down the street. We haven't done this in two years and we did it yesterday. It was the best date I've been on in a long time. We had so much fun and right now we are currently tied in overall mini-golf wins so now we'll have to have another date to break the tie for mini golf.

This weekend my parents are in town, can't wait to see them since it'll be the last time I see them until my dad's birthday in October. Hopefully this week will fly by since I'll probably head up Thursday to see them for dinner.

  • Danser - SO exciting to start looking at venues. How awesome that you already found something you love and might possibly choose!

Liv - you are going to have a rockin' bod with all the dog walking! (as if you could get more rockin' than you already are!)

mhollister - I can't wait to see your wedding shoe pics...they sound super cute!

I had a busy weekend. FI and I got into MAJOR cleaning mode on Saturday. We literally moved all the furniture out of the bedrooms and rented a machine to clean the carpets. We even cleaned the sofa and chair in the living room with the thing! The place looks like a model home right now...so we'll see how long that lasts. Hopefully a while!

Yesterday we went to a friend's house for a Cinco de Mayo party. (LunarSongbird for those of you who remember her!) She and her DH are awesome and it was so great to see them. Their home is amazing and I am head-over-heels for their pooch.

I left some brownies on a girlfriend's porch as a surprise...but apparently the surprise was a huge mess because the squirrels found them before she got home. I somehow feel as though there are going to be dead squirrels all over her neighborhood today. "death by chocolate". Guess there are worse ways to go, but I still feel terrible. Oops!
  • I'm so tired I don't feel like being at work today. I just want to go home and hang out in the new house and unpack more stuff.
I'm hoping FI gets better soon so we can look at one more wedding venue this week and then decide which one to choose.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: How was your weekend? : Thanks, Tiger. That means a lot coming from a powerhouse like you that just PRed her FIFTH half!! :)I think that I keep comparing myself to what I USED to be able to do, and I need to get out of that mindset. I used to be able to run a 5k in about 21 minutes, so this feels like a LONG way off. I just need to accept that I'm working back toward that.

I hear that... I used to run 9:30 miles without blinking. Now I can only HOPE to get back to those days. But you have to judge yourself on your effort and abilities NOW, otherwise you'll only continue knocking yourself down. Also, I can now say that I'm pretty sure my age is catching up with me. I just cannot do the things I could have 10 years ago, but I'll comfort myself with being a pretty damn good-looking 37 year old and continue on my merry way Laughing

  • I had an EXHAUSTING weekend.  I want to go back to bed.

Friday: Worked until 3:00 (we got an early release woohoo!!) then saw Iron Man 3 (free tickets through work!!)

Saturday:  Got up at 7:00 to drive 2.5 hours to my hometown to attend my future niece's bridal shower.  Then Mom and I went shopping where I found two new bathing suits for our upcoming cruise (and realized I really have put on weight and need to do something about it).  We then went to visit a family friend who has been very sick, followed by a church event and an evening spent helping Mom out with a lot of tech stuff.

Sunday: Got up at 7:30 to drive home to help BF move in the last of his stuff.  He met me at my house with his clothes and his cat.  We watched the cat explore and then got to work.  He put is stuff up while I SCRUBBED down most of the house and did a crap ton of laundry.  The cat adjusted well and was back to normal behavior within a few hours.

I didn't sleep well last night, I woke up twice with intestinal issues so I feel like I have been run over by a truck this morning.

The good news is that no more nights apart from BF!  We still have to go get some stuff out of his apartment and do some cleaning, but he is all moved in!

  • My weekend was pretty good :)

Friday I got out of work 30 minutes early and met some coworkers out for margaritas.  BF met us there later on and he and I went to a nice quiet dinner.

Saturday I had most of the day to myself and I had a spa gift card so I indulged in a facial and a blow-out.  Afterwards I did a little shopping and then met BF in the city for dinner with his parents.

Sunday I made a really yummy sangria and had a relaxing day with BF.

  • Danser, congrats on moving and the potential venue! Hope your FI feels better soon. My weekend was good but too short. I slept in on Saturday, caught up on laundry, and made a bangin' dinner of meatball subs, loaded mashed potatoes, and fresh veggies for me and BF. We watched some Home Improvement and relaxed. Sunday we went on a hike and then I went to dinner with my mom. Now I'm at work. It is a nice easy day here, so I'm not hating Monday too much :
