Weekend Plans

Since Rdr is probably busy (and rightfully so, eeeeee!) I thought I'd get this week's Weekend Plans thread going. Anything exciting coming up? What are you getting in to?

Bean and I will be spending the whole weekend at our happy place/the barn. We've got a lot of work to do to get him ready for the show season that is now 2 weeks away. Then on Sunday we're assisting our trainer with a girl scout troop that is coming to earn their horsemanship badge or something like that.

How about you?

Re: Weekend Plans

  • I remember when I was in girl scouts we got our horsemanship badge! I loved it! I miss those days.

Tonight I'm just hanging out with FI and cooking him some dinner. I making a weight watchers recipe for Skillet Lasagna. Should be yummy! I don't think I'll be able to get a good workout in today since it's super nasty outside and I'll be going straight to FI's place after work.

Saturday I'll probably do some P90 before I go shopping with my sister and mom. I think I may get a pedicure (1st one in like 1000 years). Let's just say I need one haha. I really want to go shopping for my wedding shoes but maybe it's too early? IDK. Then that night FI and I may go to a BBQ or hang out with his Dad and stepmom since it has been a while since we have hung out with them.

Sunday we have church and then if the weather is nice I want to go to the pool with a margarita in my hand! I doubt the weather will be all that great so I may just make some margs and we shall drink them all : )
  • Bean- have fun at the barn!!!!

Tonight-Heading over to our first wedding reception venue to check it out.  I really hope it's nice because I love the wedding packages they have. We shall see.  Then more packing and getting things ready to move!!!

Saturday- move in day! I'm so excited I can't stand it.  The movers are coming between 8-9 tomorrow. So we'll be unpacking and adjusting the kitties to the new space.  Then Jen & I are crashing rdr's wedding ; -) ;-)

Sunday- I have a friends' bridal shower I am in her wedding too.  Then rehearsal at night.  I'm just exhausted thinking about my weekend.  I've been non stop exhausted since we closed on the house.  So much is going on, I would love for a whole day of sleep.

I always wanted to join Girl Scouts when I was little. But I had so much going on (riding, soccer, music) that I never had the chance.

Your Saturday sounds insanely busy. If I have to go to more than 2 places, just the thought exhausts and stresses me out.

Yea Girl Scouts was a lot of fun but it definitely took a lot time out of our schedules. If we wanted to do other things it had to just be one other sport or activity. Saturday night will hopefully just end up being one thing to go to. The BBQ is like 30 minutes away from FI's parent's house so I definitely don't want to go to both. We will probably just hang out with his parentals...it's way too rainy outside to go to a BBQ.

OMG so many exciting things happening this weekend for you!!! Good luck with finding a reception venue!
  • Yes I will post pictures at some point.  I have to find my camera too.  I am also hoping once we are fully in the house and unpacked to do a video tour of the new home.

  • Bean-Have fun at the barn this weekend! I love horses but I'm so scared to ride them so when my mom would go to the barn, I would clean out the stalls instead of ride with her. I was a weird child.

Danser-So excited for you for moving day!!! You absolutely have to show us pictures of the new place! Don't get overwhelmed with unpacking, I still haven't unpacked everything yet and it's been 8 months!

Hollister-Thank you for reminding me to get a pedicure this weekend!

Tonight, I'm going to get a pedicure and sign up for tanning for my upcoming trip to Mexico!

Tomorrow I have an eye doctor's appointment (third one this month booo), then I have to go up to the mall to return a dress that I bought, grocery shopping, mowing the lawn, cleaning, laundry and then cook dinner. Needless to say I'm thankful for the grill because dinner will be hot dogs and hamburgers that night.

Sunday, BF has a "surprise date" planned for me, but I think we're going to go see Ironman 3.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend especially RDR who's GETTING MARRIED ON SATURDAY!!!!

  • I hate having boxes lying around, and having clutter and disorganization so I'm hoping to be unpacked in a short period of time.  We'll see.

  • Happy wedding weekend, rdr!

Tonight we have our last gaming session for the semester. BF co-founded a tabletop gaming club on campus around the time we started dating; that's the gaming we go to on Fridays.

Tomorrow BF has a Pathfinder/Kingmaker session in the evening, so I pretty much have most of the day to myself. I'll do some laundry and work in ends on my granny square afghan. I'm really pleased with how it turned out - sight unseen, color matching online, it matches my curtains and bedspread perfectly.

Sunday we're going to hang out and catch up on "Vikings" and "Mythbusters."
  • Tonight I'm doing a quick run and some grocery shopping. DH is going to make me dinner.

Tomorrow we have to run a couple errands, and I'm going to try to take it easy because...

Sunday I'm running my 5th half-marathon (on 5/5 no less!). I'm going to try to set a PR, so it's going to hurt, but I'm looking forward to it. Afterwards I'll probably shower, nap, and then eat all. the. calories. No idea what yet, I need to decide what I want to indulge in!

GO TIGER! I wish I could run. I really feel like I could find my zen in running. I like alone time things like that. Allows my brain to mull over lots of different things. Stupid knees!

  • after work today I'm stopping by the grocery store to stock up on stuff we need for the ILs visiting next week.  I want to squeeze in a JM Yoga Meltdown workout before H and I go out to eat.  we're trying a new pizza place that looks REALLY good.  it's a new local place, not a chain, so hopefully it's really tasty.  we'll run by Sprouts after that to get meat and produce and maybe grab a dessert or something?  oh!  and we need to get H's Mother's Day gift.

Saturday we're going with my mom to the farmer's market and then to the plant nursery.  I was going to plant my tomato plants, but it's not going to be as warm as I thought.  I'll probably spend the majority of the day cleaning for the ILs visit and studying for finals.

Sunday, we have church and Bella's 5th doggy birthday party.  dog treats for the furries, and mini cupcakes for the humans.  any excuse for cupcakes, right??

Bean- The trip to the barn sounds like fun!

Danser- Yeah for moving day!  Can't wait to see pictures of the new place.

Hollister- If you could see my nails right now.  I'm sure yours look 100x better.

Tiger- Good luck with the marathon.  If I had an indulgence for the weekend I would pick pizza personally.  :)

Buddysmom- Where are you going in Mexico?

    Coco- Happy birthday to Bella!

Tonight I'm likely working late...par for the course of late.

Saturday- H and I are going to try to celebrate our dating anniversary (silly since we are married but we need a break together from all the work stress I've been going through).  We are going to see Blue Man Group, drink a margarita (or two or three) and enjoy a day where I *pray to God* don't have to work.

Sunday- I'm probably working and H will likely go for a bike ride.  I need to exercise...hope I can get a walk in at least.
  • I'm so looking forward to this weekend!  Can it be 5 please?

Tonight will probably be a couch and movie night because we are so busy tomorrow.

Saturday FI, FBIL, and I are running a 5K for Ovarian Cancer.  We only signed up 2 weeks ago and set an aggressive fundraising goal of $2K.  As of this morning we've exceeded our goal by $500.  I couldn't be happier about this:)  After our race ( and showers) we're headed to Wrigley for the Cubs game.   Afterwards we have a handful of parties to choose from for Derby watching.  Not sure where we will end up, but I have a suspicion it will be at an OU bar in Lincoln Park.

Sunday will most likely be a recovery day.  With it being Cinco de Mayo I may have to help my recovery along with a margarita and a little Sunday Funday action.

Races, Cubs, Mint Juleps, and Margaritas should make for one crazy weekend.  Hope Monday doesn't hurt too bad!

Suzie, congrats on exceeding your fundraising goal, and have fun tomorrow!

Danser, so many exciting things this weekend.  Good luck with the move!

Tonight A is with her dad, and B is mixing a lounge dj set (think 40's, Mad Men style music) for a friend's closing party of the 30 Day Dapper Challenge.  It has been fun helping him to pick records for this set, since I am a bit more familiar with this style of music than he is.  Now I get to gussy up, have fun watching him play, and spend time with some friends.

We might try to catch the new Iron Man movie tomorrow, but I am not sure about that.

Also, A has an optional activity for school she wants to work on over the weekend.  In 3rd grade, they are given the opportunity to be a Junior Teacher, and make up a 15 minute lesson plan, with a 10 minute class activity, which they will carry out over the last few days of school.  She wants to put together a lesson around Greek Mythology.  So, I will be helping her a little with that.
