Dress Anxiety

I just bought my dress last weekend, and it is beautiful! Problem is, I couldn't actually put it on because they didn't have the sample in my size (14). Normally I would have said "I'll come back when they have a sample for me", but it was only in store for the trunk show going on that weekend, which also meant 10% off.
Luckily my bridesmaid who came along is a size 8, so I asked her to try it on so I could see it on someone. It was breathtaking! I tried on a dress in a similar fit and loved the shape on me, so I bit the bullet and ordered the dress. Now I can't stop wondering if I made the right choice... what do you think?
sorry about the shot, i didn't get a pic from the front.

Edit: to top it off, it seems this dress is an Allure "exclusive" because pictures of this dress do not exist online. so i have no idea what style # this is

Re: Dress Anxiety

  • Honestly, there are days I worry about mine too.

I didn't get one that fit perfectly, and sometimes I question the final color I selected for the back of the gown (should I have gone for a different shade of purple?), and sometimes I worry I missed out by not trying on more gowns.

That said, I think the dress you've picked out is BEAUTIFUL!!

It's possible you're just having a moment of "buyer's remorse" spending the amount of money on a dress (I REFUSE to think about the money I spent on my dress that could have been spent on other things).  But, honestly, I think you made a great choice!  It looks great, and if the other gown you tried on is the same shape, then I think you made an excellent choice!

Your fears will probably be set to rest once YOUR gown comes in and you can try it on.  :)
  • Im so close to my wedding that I still worry about my dress!! haha its normal
  • I think it is beautiful! The one you tried on is so similar in silhouette and material I think you will be fine. Typically I would be nervous not being able to try it on, but at least you could see it on a body right next to you wearing a similar gown. Wedding gown doubts are normal, even when you try on the gown you buy!

I think that was a great idea for not having it in your size and I think it will work actually, beautiful dress I love the deep V in the back. Don't sweat it, the day it arrives you will know you made the right choice!

  • I think worrying about your dress is normal. I obsessed over mine. I looked at pics online constantly. Deep down I knew I picked the right one I'm just sort of a worrier. I thought maybe people wouldn't like it or it was too plain. I was stressed out the day before the wedding and when my bridesmaid arrive with my dress I couldn't stop smiling, just looking at it made me happy.
